Sanitaire F&G And MM Bags Galore Plus Shakeout Mess

I don't have any means to test my vacuum. I have a Sanitaire Tradition that uses ST bags. I started with the Sanitaire brand premium ST bags which are cloth. Then I tried the Envirocare bags with this recent bag change. I have 20 year old medium pile carpet (noting it's age because it is matted and lower pile in high traffic areas now). With the Sanitaire bags, I was vacuuming on height level 3. With the Envirocare, I have to use it on height level 4 to be able to push the vacuum. My guess is that boost in airflow really pulls the vacuum to the carpet. I like those bags!

Oh my goodness gracious! I might have to get the ST conversion kit and ST disposable bags too! Good luck in your testing! I am hoping that the ST bags and the Koblenz bags will do well in testing!

I’m happy the expensive Koblenz bags were exactly what I and others thought they were, and more. I feel those are thicker than the VAC hepa bags.

I would say it doesn't say HEPA because it's 99.7% not 99.97% which I believe makes it HEPA certified

I wonder how it would work by leaving the bag attached to the vacuum and take it outside, remove the clip, and turn on the machine to blow its own dirt out of the bag? LOL

My grandma used to use a metal Royal with F&G bags that were single ply paper and it would leak dust everywhere cause she would use carpet cleaning powder not the bad stuff she buys The best stuff you can get so finally I gave her a Dyson DC 17 with Hyppa filtration h10 probably and I helped to do the carpet cleaning it did not spray dust everywhere like the royal did and I do not like bagless machines my favorite her bag but yet I gave her that when I did not like bag machines I’d like bagless more now I love my bag vacuums

I have a Sanitaire and the Sanitaire premium Allergen Bags, which are cloth. Still not HEPA, but pretty good! Where the cloth outer bag attaches to the base of the machine: dust collects there. I am thinking of sealing that with silicone to see if it prevents as much dust from escaping. There's also a gasket around the motor which can dry rot and crack. So these are two points with these machines where dust can and will escape due to the powerful air flow before it even reaches the bag. If those are sealed up, it may be worth getting an actual HEPA rated bag.
