As a Boston fan who's heart was broken a rainy morning before school when I heard the B's traded Thornton on the local sports news network, I'm glad it worked out for both teams and Thornton is a damn legend. Got this authentic B's jersey right next to me still. Demers, you're great at this!

I was disgusted that O'Connel broke the Bruins for years with the trade. As a Nova Scotian it was also tough to wait until late in the night to watch Joe work his magic but I did it. I never gave up on Glenn Murrey & the Bruins but I did consider their managemet. poisoned the team for years. Nice to see Joe & his Soul Mate landed on both feet & maintained their gift of smiling no matter what curve balls life threw at them. I sincerly wish # 19 would be beside the other steller Bruins he **BELONGS** with.

Forever a Bruin in my mind, once you were skating in Wilmington and my daughter hit the ice for figure skating right after (she was wearing her USA Jacket) and you took the time to do a few laps with her. I personally found the game of hockey after the Sharks come to town, it was a sport that without the Sharks I would have probably never played. Know in some small way you taught me through your own highs and lows the game and the detail to the craft. Know too, you’ve been loved by the fans and appreciated, thank you for the fantastic effort, passion and dedication…….raise a cup for being who you are. Much love to you and your family. I recall watching a documentary on CBC I think? It was very early in Joes career and it was a look at his first year in Boston after being drafted 1st overall. There was some early struggles adjusting to the game and a scene in the stands stood out to me. The GM was freaking out on the scout who talked him into picking Joe and how much of a disaster that move was. He was pissed and had clearly written Joe off right then. I recall he played the Stanley cup playoffs very hurt, broken ribs etc and they lost but it didn't matter to the GM. He got traded because the GM couldn't get over himself. Great person, great player, should have won a cup.
