Dude, the pointer sisters still have a great show, they are charming & they take pride in their performance,, sorry to say, but so many older Artist are not singing live, or many look like they just rolled out of bed before they hit the stage & that's when it's time to hang it up, the Pointer's deserve more attention as a mainstream act cause they have so many hits & are still going strong, they were on radio in 80's all the time when I was a kid & that's back when the radio played good music.

Trying to find some of the last appearances June made with the sister. It was in 2004 they had let her go.
@orane35495 жыл бұрын
I thought June left on her own the second time due to her legal troubles. Previously, they let her go to get treatment for her addiction, but it is difficult to know the real story when you are reading it from different sources. This is why I can't wait for the book written by siblings Anita and Fritz. I think there will be clarity, accuracy and fairness coming from them. Anita and Fritz, please do not miss the next deadline, I've been hanging on since last year (2018). LOL!

@@MUSICENCYLOPEDIA "Fairytale" written by Anita and Fritz Pointer was released in the winter, February 11, 2020 I believe. The day it was released I was in Barnes and Noble to get my copy, I have read Anita's book or parts of it at least 20 times already and love it. @orane35495 жыл бұрын
Ha ha ha! I thought I was the only one who felt that way. No way can Ruth do it justice. This song screams out for Baby Sister June's voice. It is just not the same without her. I think people attend their concerts now for nostalgic reasons. The music never gets old, it still keeps you tapping your feet, but their voices? That's a different story.
@drwakeup24074 жыл бұрын
I like June too. But Ruth always sang lead on automatic. June was the lead singer for the Pointers. So I understand the void. I'm happy the remaining sisters still perform.
@orane35494 жыл бұрын
@@drwakeup2407 There is only one of the four Sisters who still perform. The original two have died unfortunately and one Sister retired five years ago. The current group consists of the eldest Sister and her daughter and grand daughter. June was never *THE LEAD SINGER,* they all sang lead at times.

I luv the Pointer sisters and their gifted music, but not with their daughters and nieces in the formation
@jmattjack4 жыл бұрын
Pointer Sisters are awesome in any configuration - and the niece came in because one sister died early 50’s from cancer and a granddaughter came in when another sister became too ill to perform. So yah not the original group but ...would t you rather perform and travel with your family rather than try and please every fan ?
@triadafillos14 жыл бұрын
@@jmattjack I do not agree with you, this latest formation does not really have much in common with the original Pointer Sisters. They look different, they dance different and most of all, they sing different. Even Ruth can not save this
@orane35494 жыл бұрын
@@triadafillos1 I totally agree. This is not the entertainment group who happened to be sisters with the best harmony on the planet. It is now a group of family members making a living, by singing the Pointer Sisters old hits.

@phillycheez62882 жыл бұрын
@@triadafillos1 ...💯💯💯 it should be renamed "The Pointers" not the sisters...it's only one sis with her daughter/granddaughter. Their harmonies don't blend tight like the sisters did,making it sound like one. That's hard feat in itself. And Ruth low register cannot sing Anita or June's leads! Period. Point blank. I said what I said! They only sound passing on the songs Ruth actually led.🤷🏾♀️
