SankeyMagic I would, an AM, self associated to the 3 of ❤️’s. Why? Because, I met my now wife by showing her a card trick. Her chosen card? The 3 of Hearts On July 27th 2017 and married on Feb 9th 2019. (3x9=27) ever since that day we met (at one of my bands shows and I always carry a pack of cards with me everywhere) the 3 of ❤️’s is OUR card. 😀

I would be the 7 of diamonds because this is the card that saved my life in a way. I was depressed for something like 2 years and was once near suicide and then one day I went on youtube, saw the cartoon deck trick and the card that was chosen was the 7 of diamonds. I was amazed and that made me dive into magic and today, one and a half years after I'm the happiest person I know. And Jay you taught me a lot so you've been part of this journey so thank you!!

The choice is the Jack of Clubs, the very first deck of proper cards I ever owned was a vintage 1952 bee deck...my Uncle who gave it to me, did a 3 card monte, similar to yours, a Queen of Diamonds, a joker, and the surprise card was the jack of clubs. It's been stuck in my mind ever since and inspired me into cardistry...and I use the jack of clubs for slights now!

I've got to tell you, Jay, I've been watching you and your videos for several years and as I knew there would be a switch at some point, I spotted when you substituted the joker for the Queen with the $10 attached. Jack of Spades-I am a lab-tech for a Mechanical Engineering program at a Texas college. I am not an engineer, but I support the engineering program. I am important to the program but I play a more in the background role. The Spade supports the King Queen and Ace but is not as important in rank. The lab-tech does a lot of the work behind the scene to make sure the labs are ready when the students come into them. He/She makes sure all the lab equipment is ready, the safety equipment is in place and that the students observe all the safety procedures to run the lab safely. The spade is a type of shovel; a tool that is used when you do work that gets your hands dirty. My job as lab-tech does require me to get my hands dirty and I would not trade out the job for anything.

Never Mind the choice of cards I would be, cause If I were to pick anything out from this video, Jay, I would pick your T Shirt.! Dont know want Gord Downey may have chosen as a card , but if he picked one, it would be mine. So nice to see you wearing Tragically Hip Shirt, so few people in the USA even know who Tragically Hip is.. But your wearing the shirt does a huge service to the Band. I hope others recognize whom they are and how important they were and still are to Canadian Culture... I dont think Gord was much of a magician, but he was as good a musician as you are a magician! Bless up Sankey... Keep up the good work... i love your tricks and i practice them all the time, here, In Toronto, Ontario, Canada... Home of the tragically hip!!

Your words literally gave me shivers. Ah Gord...Am I right? Wow. What an actual LEGEND. So humble, but oh so brave. His words, his deeds, awe inspiring. Some get it, some don't. But for those of us who felt his genius, words fail. Again. Big hug!

This has to be my favorite Monte, I have used so many but this is so practical! I used Garret Thomas 3 card Monte, Skinner Monte and many others but this has an element I love! Oh and I am 2 years late but my Favorite Card is the 9 of diamonds because it’s the 52nd card in the Mneumonica stack, each year my favorite card changes. I guess next year My favorite card is the Joker 🃏 since I am out of cards :(

I've been practicing this for about a week but when I try and do it live I've been caught on the switch of the paper clip both times I tried. I'm fairly new and looking for any tips or hints to better execute the "move". I'm trying really hard to distract them with the Joker that is being left out but 0/2 for far...

If I were a playing card I would like to be the eight of clubs. Clubs has so many elements compared to the other suits yet it keeps its geometrical tree-like elegancy. And the way the clubs fill empty space on the eight is the pattern of a pure harmony: 4 clubs for a rhombus around a clear center, and 4 clubs for the outside corners of it. A shape inside a shape. Mesmerizing. It's like a card illustration of a human being or at least of what a human being should be: a beautiful, deep, diverse yet self-balanced creature.

This is a really good story for a 3 card monte! If I could be any card, I'd be the 7 of clubs. I always use the 7 of clubs when I force a card because a few months ago, I posted a picture of me holding the 7, so after I perform a trick, I tell the spectators that all along I knew what card they'd pick!
@paganworld52985 жыл бұрын
Jay, for the last reveal I would show the queen first and pause a few beats before showing the clipped joker, this way some of the people watching will start to think you are using two queens. When you turn the last joker over you have yet another magic moment. Well that is my thoughts and what I am going to do. have fun and thanks for sharing my friend.
@SankeyMagic5 жыл бұрын
Great thinking. It's ALLL about the deets. Noice!
@NormLegge5 жыл бұрын
Great conception Jay. Consider: since the clipped Queen is a bit obvious and the audience knows you are a wily magician, they may spoil the reveal by guessing correctly. So perhaps instead clip one of the Jokers and modify patter to do the switch while "setting one joker aside." Giving them the perception of a 50/50 chance. Then the big reveal becomes the clipped Queen. 😮 thanks for all the great content.

First of all, answer the question of the week. If I were any card, I would want to be the Jack of Hearts. Why, because the face of the Jackof Hearts looks like a prince. And a prince and hearts would attract the ladies. Come to think of it. I think I'll make that my calling card. thanks, Jake, for coming up with that great idea for me. That's where the trick, I really like it. I was so fascinated with the story that goes with the trick, that it made the whole trick a lot more fun to watch.
