Thanks for taking the time to review their new light. I wish I had as much luck as you have with Sansi lights. I've had 3 fail over time and two more are currently fading. However, they have been easy to work with on warranty exchanges and stand by their product and word. Do you know if the 2200W is greenhouse rated, or strictly intended for indoor use?

I will never buy a light from a company that misleads using "equivalent" wattage. There are plenty of companies that label their products honestly. EDIT - 3/27/23 i visited the SANSI webpage and it seems all of their grow lights are correctly labeled by the actual wattage. This makes changes my opinion and makes me very happy! Although some 3rd party sellers have some old models, those should disappear over time.

I don't think it's dishonest. I think it's old-fashioned and should be abandoned. It made sense when LED grow lights were first introduced to the market. SANSI is very upfront about the actual power consumption and light output of their products, as are most other brands.

Catering to the older crowd....maybe. You're right it's about time they/us get away from the old standards, but you goto the store they still say 60w, or 100w equivalent on the LED Bulbs...not 8w, or 12w. It's to give you a sense of how bright it is but it doesn't work that well with grow lights, especially since the diodes (LED's) are getting more efficient every day. People want to know how much power is it gonna use, and how much the light is gonna give my plants, and what's the spectrum good for. The way to do that is for people to get educated with PPFD's, coverage, and the wattage the fixture uses....but I digress, after all the US is the only major country that doesn't like to use metrics.

2.2 kw, wow that's a serious amount of energy, it has a significant cost, at least here in europe with 0.56 $/kw. I don't know in the states but no problem if you have solar panels, it's free.

It’s not 2200 watts the model number is 2200 W it only puts out 220 watts

Hi Eric! The actual power consumption (as tested in the video) is 199 watts.

Yes I have grown to fruit stage, but I mostly just grow seedlings to plant outside.
