Santa Cruz beaches closed because of storm surge

Santa Cruz Wharf, Main Beach and Cowell Beach were all closed. Logs littered the sandy coast and onlookers sat on perches witnessesing Mother Nature in action.

Years ago we had a big event like this and we went down to the beach and found a number of lobster traps with live lobsters in them, we took them home and called some friends and somebody brought a pound of butter and we all sat around and gorged on fresh lobster.
