Excellent! Thank you Sam for the memories! I had the honor of working Chillicothe to Ft. Madison, IA, as conductor with Harold White, Ed Coats & Kim Weaver. It was a fast trip with Kim keeping the 844 on low throttle up Edelstein Hill to make the 3751 earn her keep. Frank Javorsky looked good running 844. 30 years ago!

A couple of times I pushed it too hard on Marceline side and they would grab 20 lbs of air to slow it back down. They would not let us runn over 40mph claiming the schedule required a slower speed.

To think all 3 of those Warbonnet Dash 8s are now scrapped is pretty sad. Glad ATSF 3751 is still around.

I apologize for not getting back sooner. I don't have anymore than what I posted. All cab shots are mine and ground video's are my brother Bob's. He edited it to include his video's. I don't know what happened to my original VHS Tape.

What is Santa Fe Employee Recognition Train. It would be nice to explain a bit what is going on here. Or is this some kind of a secret?

Most railfans know. Basically Santa Fe Rwy ran this train from Los Angeles to Chicago and return to Los Angeles in 1992. Santa Fe Steam Engine 3751 was used along with two diesel helpers. I was engineer on the diesel helper thus is why you see the video from the cab. Employees from every division was allowed to ride for free on their respective territories. My family was riding the coaches on this trip. I am operating the division I work between Kansas city ks and ft Madison Iowa.
