One of my trainers at the San Bernardino yard still remembers this film and told us about it.

Ahh the good ol' days, when the phenomenal horns were at the beginning of their legacy.

Back when TVs were made in America! And when everything was shipped in boxcars before intermodal containers and grain hoppers.

You gotta feel bad for this guy when he only has one shirt to wear. Yet he sacrifices so he can buy a TV for the family and neighborhood.👍

don't feel that bad for him... this was made in the 50s... a switchman back then was making about 30 bucks a day... adjusted for inflation, that about 230 bucks in todays coin pretty damn good cash

The engineers don't wave from the trains anymore, not like they didBACK in 1954
@David-vp3eq Жыл бұрын
They do, sometimes; I used to work at a truck and trailer repair company whose yard was adjacent to a CN yard in Toronto and the dudes on the switching locomotives always nodded or waved at me when they saw me.

Maybe it was me who did it. Though I wasn't born yet, maybe it was me who broke the TV?

sad they dont make televisions in US anymore
@Greatdome99 Жыл бұрын
A lot of damage these days has been eliminated by the use of load restraining devices, cushion underframes and containers. And trains don't get flat-switched (or humped) much anymore; they're operated as unit trains from terminal to terminal.

Good old days when men were men and women were women. Men took pride in their work and woman took care of their families.

I dont see the point of including seahorses in a video about trains, this is so misleading.
