Love this! This season felt so inauthentic gift-wise.

The feeling of loneliness, or missing out is actually an illusion. Its just the thought of missing people mixed a negative emotion mixed with the additional thought that this entire thought feeling soup is inevitable. To remove the negative feeling just put the thought on trial by responding "Why?" every-time it arises. With every rebuttal just continue to ask why until its gone. Works every time.

I'm 23. Was not excited at all for Christmas. Decided to put energy into giving instead of receiving. Seeing my family happy didn't cure my sadness, but it gave me purpose and made the holiday worth it, in a way.

I'm double your age. I wish I had this maturity when I was your age. You're on the right track, don't let anxiety steer you away from it.

I think the hardest thing we can learn to do is just be, even while we’re alone. From the sound of it you’re doing great, especially at 18!

So glad this was recommended to me! You have a great presence talking to the camera. Im a 25 year old technically single girl, and lemme tell ya: that whole finding your soulmate/prince charming mindset is sooooo hard to break out of. 😔 Glad you recognize that you gotta put yourself first and not have any expectations about it all. Love just happens when it happens. Wish I could go back in time and tell my 18 year old self that. I’m subscribing! ❤

Sounds like your growing up, find your passion in life whatever it is and life is easier.

Life is beautiful? Perhaps it can be sometimes. But it can be confusing and nasty too. I suppose, if life was easy it wouldn’t be as interesting. Maybe the problems or stresses stem from my own mistakes? Christmas is enjoyable for some but just another day for others!
