GOLD ! THIS ERA IS PERHAPS HIS BEST. THIS DISPELS SOME RUMORS OF CARLOS AND HIS ABILITY TO PLAY SONG OF THE WIND !
@GSDubs4083 жыл бұрын
Just curious - what are those rumors ?
@rajkumarrajamani48113 жыл бұрын
@@GSDubs408 - it has been widely written & discussed that Song of the wind has minimal Carlos playing and much of it was played by Neal Schon....
@marcelmorejon90233 жыл бұрын
What I’ve read is that Neal plays the first part of the solo, Carlos the middle (best part in my opinion) and Neal again at the end. This song is truly the best example of the Influence Carlos had on Neal at this point in his career. His tone, phrasing, melodic ideas are very much Carlo’s style.

@@marcelmorejon9023Schon is magnificent but he learned so much from Carlos and he’ll tell you how fortunate he was to have a mentor like Carlos at 17.

Well, he didn't quite have Doug's groove.....but who did ? At least he tried. "Rauching"......I like that. I've been trying to Rauch my bass lines for a long time and if I come close, I've had a good day.

Duggy was special met him on 110th street in NYC . At the time the heroine Capital of the world . With all his demons he was a beautiful soul. I dread to think what he could’ve accomplished if lived longer . He was loved . RIP Mr. Raush

What an exceptional experience you must have had. With or without Neal - what a gorgeous treat to hear possibly the greatest instrumental of all time, live. Am very jealous - but overjoyed to hear it. Best wishes..London.

I have a picture on my wall of Carlos Santana playing his Yamaha True it did have a very great sound
@12groney2 жыл бұрын
I agree, that Yamaha could peel paint off the walls, it was so clear and strong but I think it was too heavy over time, it was a beast from what I understand and he played it quite a few years.

@@12groney Going back to the Les Paul wouldn't have helped with the weight, but I think the L6-S was lighter than the Yamaha......and sure sounded better than any PRS I've heard him play.
