Hey guys, in case you didn't know... the singer and keyboard player in the original Santana band is Gregg Rolie. After Santana he went on to form the band Journey, together with fellow Santana member Neal Schon, who joined Santana as a second guitarist. Gregg would be Journey's lead singer for their first three albums. Those three are massively different from the much more commercial sounding music they would make once Steve Perry joined as lead singer. Way more of a hard rock/fusion/jam type of sound. Gregg would stay with Journey for a few more years as keyboardist and co- lead singer until he had enough of the hectic rock life and left the band. He's awesome. He actually just appeared as a special guest at a Journey concert a couple of weeks ago and played some early Journey songs, as well as Black Magic Woman from their Santana days. Gregg and Neal looked like they were having so much fun!!

Very cool, bluesy/rock tune from Santana's debut album in 1969. I believe Gregg Rolie is on vocals and organ. Love the vibe and journey it takes you on. I know you have covered some great Santana songs - a couple other suggestions if not already covered - "Samba Pa Ti" and "Put Your Lights On" (very different). I may have only heard this song once or twice at the most. I barely recall hearing it at all. One of the guys in my barraks had it on vinyl and would play it a lot. I was in Germany when this album and song came out in 1969 so I obviously did not hear it played on the radio. Nothing is "typical" on this tune... even Carlos's guitar playing sounds different. It sounds like it's a blues/rock as far as genre. Thanks for reacting to it.

For my 18 years old, we took magic mushrooms with my friends, played music, as, a guitarist i got a 12 strings Martin guitar, the sound was amazing.... We made a kot of things that incredible night, then we started smoking weed, drinking alcohol, and with the magic mushrooms, we started to listen to music, all the greatest bands of 60's and 70's, Hendrix, Led Zep, Pink Floyd, etc, etc.... And, then, Santana! I, thought i would die, with the effects of mushrooms, and the sound of his PRS GUITAR, it was unbelievable! I can't remember the album exactly! I saw him live in 1999,(mushrooms again😂👍), with Raoul Rico on percussiins, and, still, Mickeal Shrieve on drums, the 2 guys were at Woodstock with him, it was just before Mickael Shrieve left, before the shit album he did Maria maria stuff, with shit rappers! But, if i can't give you an advice, listen to the album, CROSSROADS LIVE (4 CD'S), from CLAPTON, there's a song on it, where he's playing with CARLOS SANTANA, CLAPTON, AND A LOT OF GUYS! A LIVE 23 MINUTES LONG! MADNESS! PURE MADNESS! TRY TO LISTEN TO IT! SORRY I FORGOT THE TITLE! I'm 42 now, it was a long time ago! 😂Peace from FRANCE bro (no dudes)..... 😂👍✌️🎸🇫🇷🌹
