How did you retract the piston on the caliper to get the clearance to slide over the new brake pads?
@SanuMotorswithCharlie8 ай бұрын
To retract the piston on the caliper, you can use a C-clamp or a specialized brake caliper piston tool or Follow this video. Here's a simple guide: Loosen the brake fluid reservoir cap to relieve pressure. Use a C-clamp or piston tool to compress the piston back into the caliper. Place an old brake pad or a piece of wood against the piston to distribute pressure evenly. Slowly turn the clamp or tool handle clockwise to push the piston back. Check the brake fluid reservoir periodically to ensure it doesn't overflow. Once the piston is fully retracted, carefully slide the caliper over the new brake pads. Make sure to consult your vehicle's manual for specific instructions and safety precautions. Thank You

Are the rear brake pads done the same way? Is the wind back tool needed for compression or can i use a cheap spreader? Thanks for any help.
@SanuMotorswithCharlie7 ай бұрын
Hey there! When it comes to changing the rear brake pads on a Mercedes GLE 2021 with an electrical parking brake, there are a few key differences compared to the front brake pads. While the general process might be similar, it's essential to note that Mercedes vehicles often feature calipers with integrated parking brake mechanisms. Therefore, you'll need to use a tool that can both compress and rotate the piston back into position to accommodate the new brake pads. While you could technically use a cheap spreader tool, it's not the safest or most effective option. Investing in a wind back tool, also known as a brake caliper piston tool, is highly recommended. These tools are specifically designed to retract and rotate the piston simultaneously, ensuring proper clearance and functionality of the parking brake. For the best results and to avoid potential damage to the caliper or parking brake mechanism, I'd strongly advise using the correct tool for the job. As always, if you're unsure about the process or tools required, it's a good idea to consult the vehicle's manual or seek guidance from a qualified mechanic. Safety first! Hope this helps. 🚗💡"

Great 360p video in 2024 When everyone uploads 4K or 8K…. you decided to upload 360p quality for clarity 😂😂😂

😂 I guess you could say we’re keeping it retro for the nostalgia vibes! Honestly, the goal was clarity in content, even if the resolution wasn’t 4K-worthy this time. But don’t worry-upgrades are coming soon! Thanks for the laugh and for watching! 🚗👍 #KeepingItClassic #BrakePadsReplacement #BetterContentComing
