Good to see things coming together and you are enjoying your retirement. Buy a bike you will love it, riding is easy because you just go slow, start of with a honda vario good little work horse, will carry all your shopping and more.

I think downsizing is the key. And you guys have made the right decision. There are pros and cons in everything and everywhere. I think if you save your money for good private health facilities in Sanur, I think that would be the most important factor. The quicker you learn the language, the easier life would be there. Have you tried asking around the locals who do weekly meal packages? As in they cook at home and deliver in containers or come to yours and cook meals for the whole week? In regards to your drinking water, I think if you buy a "Life Straw", you can pretty much drink water from any source. I believe they have high volume products. Once you have your basic needs sorted, everything else will fall into place. I hope we can catchup one day in Sanur Richard. Miss ya mate. 😊

Retirement in Australia is also something else thats under attack from our Government. Every apsect of our lives Down Under is being pushed to the brink of hardship, and even if you do have a lot a money in retirement, they are damn well hellbent on trying to take it from you. My wife and I have been to Bali many many times and now we are in our mid 50's, this is under consideration for the futrue, which is not too far away. I loved this video!

Really loved this one, so glad everything is working our for you. Now it's time for a bike each, and of course a licence. I am a motorcycle rider here in Australia and still totally understand your hesitance to ride in Bali. I have only ridden on Lembongan, but from what I see on KZbin it seems that your local area is quite safe to ride. As a driving instructor and I am sure Richard would agree, getting started is often the biggest hurdle. Keep it up guys, I love watching!

May I ask, please, what was your biggest reason or top three reasons for retiring at relatively young ages?
@roamingRichard5 ай бұрын
Hi Thanks for watching 1/ we aren’t getting younger and whilst we have good health we decided to do it 2/ I was in a serious car accident and lucky to walk away with minor injuries , it made us think about life 3/ prices for things in Australia are getting dearer , so the option we took we can live more comfortably Hope this helps 👍

@@roamingRichard are there any aspects about your jobs that you miss, the structure, the routine the camaraderie or are you fully relieved to be CEOs of each day forever more? Just wondering because some feel as though they need to be producing an income of some sort (generating more money even though they already have enough) or “be productive“ each day to feel accomplished. Thankyou.

Good and honest advice. I'm glad you've settled in so well and are enjoying life. Just a question. How noisy is your flat? Are you disturbed by your neighbours or street noise? We found that the worst thing coming from a house with surrounding garden to very close living with other people.
