This episode felt like the GM of this server was either a game designer or an actual GM for games like D&D, unlike Kayaba and the other guy, they used the code to its fullest effect and created partial AIs to create Quests in a Dynamic Open World. Likely only checking in on if things are working smoothly or following his chosen Protagonists to directly help (fudge some rolls) or manually set Difficulty Checks.

I would attribute that NPC as an A.I (Artificial Intelligence) and Yui as an AI (Actual Intelligence), One acts in set absolutes and the other is self aware enough to change their own code. Yui had 2 years and plenty of people to learn from as a Mental Health AI to break through the boundary of Intelligence and Evolve.

If you go back and watch this episode again, you'll also notice that the only reason the group received the quest from the AI at all was because of Leafa. She was the one who befriended the flying elephant creatures when everyone else was hesitant about them, even Kirito. That was the only reason the group received the quest in the first place. When the AI gives the crystal to the group, she specifically hands it only to Leafa. She was one of the first people to recognize that killing these creatures was wrong and knew that they were a creation that should be protected and saved.

Someone probably already mentioned this, but the lore of Alfheim Online is based around Norse mythology. You mentioned it being like Thor. That is intended. It is the mythology that the game is based around. The first major hint of this is with Asuna at the top of the Yggdrasil tree. Yggdrisil is conisered the "tree of life" in Norse mythology. A lot of the game's elements are based on Norse lore.

I know this is extremely late but while rewatching these reactions I have to mention that in the LN's Asuna has an extreme love of baths. Especially in the Progressive novel's, she goes for a bath whenever she has free time. In Castle Galey on floor 6 there's a huge steamy public bath that she adores. Not many people go there so it's usually just her and party members, with kirito having to stay several feet away at all times.

Well, they went through hell fighting Death Gun, plus bonding over similar trauma, so about as fire forged as fire forged friends can be. Sinon has zero romantic interests in Kirito, or relationships in generals after what happened, but she DOES like to tease him. Especially when Asuna is around, because she knows it causes him to squirm and not really know how to handle the situation.
