The SAR K2 45 is a clone of a CZ97 but actually better: 1. 14rd mag vs 10rd CZ mag 2. Slide is 3oz lighter vs CZ 3. Slide is .15" lower vz CZ 4. SAR K2 45 available in stainless steel 5. 33% off the price of CZ97 6. Better machining and fitment 7. Trigger is perfect 👌

I have owned one since 2012. I can attest this and I have put thousands of rounds through it. It was an accidental purchase. I just wanted a double stack 45 that wasn't over $1k at the time. It is my go to pistol and my 3 gun pistol. Its a military pistol and it shows. I can also attest that it takes +P ammo like regular ammo. I use the ultralight 78 grain ammo for 3 gun and will use the +P 230 grain for self defense. Its a monster.
@WheeledandWellArmed3 жыл бұрын
@@John_Conner222 I saw one at a gun show, I told the guy it is a soft shooter and very accurate. Three times he tried to sell it to me that day. I told him I had the full and compact. He got so low, I considered it. I keep looking at the SAR P8S or P8L with ported barrel. The P8S with full size grip and compact slide but the SS one is now $550. I guess 2021 that is normal.
@John_Conner2223 жыл бұрын
@@WheeledandWellArmed Yep I think that's about right as far as price goes. Mine was $400 at the time and that was for a double stack 45. There are no other guns at that price point. They all start at $1k and go up from there in 45acp. I think those are the 9mm variants you listed, not sure. You can get the ported slide on any variant it just costs more. Mine doesn't have it bit its fine by me. Really only for show. I like that my slide is covered in case I do have a problem from shooting all that +P ammo. I may actually try to reload some hotter loads one day because the gun is forged steel with a heavy duty barrel and I think it can handle it and I want to see if I can get closer to 9mm velocities with that 230gr slug. I almost wish I went with the 9mm versions though. It holds more ammo and is even more accurate. You can get those RIP rounds in 9mm and those things actually shred soft body armor. I have put over 5000 rounds through my K2 and it still looks and functions like the day I bought it. The only wear and tear is on the bolt and inside the slide with the black coating coming off around the edges. Insane quality. However I do take care of it and keep it clean and drenched in oil.

I'm a woman with bigger hands. I love my Sar K2 . It is a bigger gun ,I love the weight and low recoil.(it recoils less than my 9mm) Not a conceal piece for sure but I have my S&W M&P shield 45 for that .one or 2 feed issues with certain ammo types on a full mag. Very accurate and I say that as an avid shooter . I love my SAR K2. This is my go to for home defense and open carry when I am out in the woods. Downside no decocker and slide release is a bit forward for my liking .Also downside on weight with holster that carrys extra full mag . I also like the peep hole. This was my first handgun , got it from my brother and took my conceal carry with it .Perfect score having never fired it before. I will be hanging on to this one.

I have one and love it! The first time I took it to the range I only had to adjust the rear sight twice. Once for 25 yards then for 50 yards. It shoots my 185 gr. S.J.H.P. reloads perfectly as in the video with a 3" group at 15 yards and a 3&1/2 to 4" group at 50 yards! The groups are probably my fault but I am satisfied!

I'm about to purchase one, just wish it had a decocker. Not really a dealbreaker because I understand that's one way they can keep the cost of the handgun down.

Nice shooting man! I see this video is 4 years old, so that would explain why this same firearm is now $680. The SAR website does offer night sights, and red dot mounting plates for these, as well as threaded barrels. So these can definitely be customized nicely for more money of course. Great review!

Hope this helps you guys with the manual-of-arms, but there should be a 3rd mode that's not being mentioned by any reviewer I'm aware of. These types of pistols usually have a half-cock position for the hammer. By pulling the hammer back to half-cock it is easier to retract the slide until it touches the hammer which also indexes the disassembly marks for ease of disassembly. From my experience with CZ pistols, half-cock is also a very viable carry mode which greatly reduces the length of the first trigger pull in DA mode.

Thank you Kevin.
@kevinnewberry11164 жыл бұрын
@@GunStuffTV You bet. Like your channel and have subscribed. One other thing that I have not yet been able to verify, but am about 85%, is that with the hammer at half-cock, the manual safety can be engaged. That is certainly the case for some models, and it's really like getting a 3rd option as far as firing mode. Really the same type of pull as with CZ models that decock.
@asav19762 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this explanation. I gave this much thought in learning to work with this gun before i saw your post and this great video, but I shied away from doing it because I was concerned about whether this would be a reliable way to handle this gun. This was a huge reassurance.
@kevinnewberry11162 жыл бұрын
@@asav1976 You're welcome. JMO, but because of the excellent firing pin safety design, copied from Tanfoglio, it is much safer to lower the hammer to half-cock and I've yet to come up with a reason why these Tanfo clones are not completely safe with the hammer at half-cock. Manual safety engaged or not. Provided you're satisfied with the DA trigger pull. Galloway Precision makes an excellent internal spring kit that includes a lighter hammer spring as well as a lighter trigger return spring. And Wolfe also makes high quality hammer springs which all of the DA/SA SAR USA share with the EAA Tanfo Witness. Pretty easy to get a really good trigger pull. The trigger return spring is most significant, and also sold by Cajun Gunworks. But the lighter you go with the hammer spring, the slower lock-time will become. Wolff states that the stock Witness hammer spring is 16#, and personally, I wouldn't go less than 14# combined the reduced power trigger return spring sold by CGW. The only complaint I have with the Galloway kit is that the hammer spring is a bit too light. And I'll mention again that the trigger return spring in my SAR broke before 400 rounds fired with at least that many dry-fires included.

I got this gun today I had it once before a long time ago and I really liked it I wish I had not gotten rid of it but I did a trigger pole test and I have a different type of Gauge than you I think it’s a bit more accurate but it’s reading about 4 1/2 pounds on the tractor pole and it feels like that to me because I have other guns with the same weight of trigger pull. I wish they were some aftermarket products for this like additional G 10 grips and maybe some night sights or fiber optic sights

It is not the mags, I have four mags and the same problem with all of them. I also have a Turk CZ clone compact in 9MM.
