You’re so right about everything you said about A Little Life, and I hope people don’t read this thinking it’s a light or easy book to read. You need to be in a very good headspace and good mental state to read it, and should always look up the trigger warnings!❤

Red Rising had me ADDICTED! I got the omnibus on Kindle of the first three and devoured a 1500 page book in an astonishingly short time for a full-time worker. I couldn't out it down. I am torn about the rest of the books, because I have heard mixed reviews, verging on negative, and I don't want to taint it for myself. Phenomenal. READ IT

I started reading A Little Life because someone on Lexi (here on youtube) talked about it. It was incredible but as someone with a similar story to Jude in many ways I should not have read it the time I did. You describe this book well and I love how you do tell people what to expect without spoiling. I think if I'd seen this video before reading, I could have saved myself 3 months of misery 😆Love your wrap ups, because sometimes you put new books on my lengthy TBR that I'm so excited for.

I absolutely agree that you need to be in a good mental space to read a little life. Buttttt… i would absolutely recommend anyone who is in a good mental space and has read the trigger warnings to read it. This book is absolutely life changing and I feel like everyone should read it just because of the empathy it gives you and how it makes you realize how much other people may be going through that you are completely oblivious to. Absolute masterpiece and i loved it. I think if you really analyze it by what it can teach you and the beautiful aspects of it, it will put you into such an introspective mindset instead of a bad one. It rlly is just how you look at it.

Really intense, underrated, but GREAT post-apocalyptic series: The Edge of Collapse by Kyla Stone. I’ve never seen anyone read it and I love it. There is a small subplot of romance that is slow burn and develops over the course of the series so it’s not romance heavy but great nonetheless. You should look into it!

Hot Take: Glossaries and lists of characters before the story is lazy writing. It should be abundantly clear, from your story writing, who key characters are and what the key concepts of your world are. That's your job. I shouldn't have to put in the work. It's nice as a complimentary element, but not to depend on for your story to make sense.
