Yes he was very respectful toward Eric, Eric wrote the guitar lead for " Whiskey In The Jar " for Thin Lizzy when the band was unknown it was the breakout song for the band, although it is a very, very old song, the lead guitar track here was written by Eric in the early days of Thin Lizzy.

Lynnot gave a new dimension to rock music and was one of those rare musicians who fronted for a band as both an accomplished bass player and as the singer. It was his uniqueness that makes him a genius and Gary Moore as part of the famous this Lizzy tightly deserves to pay this tribute to this underrated rock music genius. R.I.P. Phil.

In all fairness, Phil had to work hard at his bass playing and wasn't a virtuoso on it. With that voice and stage presence he didn't need to.

Eric Bell’s guitar playing is deft and sublime. Both the early Thin Lizzy and the Dual Gibson era were equally fantastic, with the iconic Phil Lynott and the great Brian Downey as the common thread.

Over 60 myself, always loved this song. Gary, who never needed practice, was sacked and had to be replaced by two guitarists. Lovely to se him play a gracious backing!

@@vincentlcampbell9644 I wasn't aware that Clapton said that about Gary. It seemed to me that Eric didn't want to perform with ( or acknowledge ) Gary whilst Gary was alive.

A fitting tribute to both Phil and the legacy of Thin Lizzy! All band members did a fantastic job. Absolutely amazing. That one minute solo Bell did in the original studio recording is still one of the best electric guitar performances of ALL TIME!
