Boosted Mini S unboxing and first impressions! I compared it to my Acton S and S2 hub motor e-boards and the acton s2 actually did much better than expected with acceleration but for me it's all about CONTROL. The acton remote is still really sketch and I'm not a big fan of hub motor boards. ANYWAYS exciting stuff.

existing me the $750 model is safe for air travel, however the $1000 model is not due to the battery being bigger so the board wont be able to be carry-on.

existing me Not sure if you mean if it can fit in luggage or if they can go into cargo, but I guess the luggage size matters and if you are talking about carry on or cargo, both can do cargo but only the cheaper model can do carryon. But I'm pretty sure you would be holding onto the board by hand if you want it for air travel. If you still have any questions, you can go to their website and it explains anything you probably wanna know.

this would be way easier since you dont need to worry about the whole Kick/Push part.. the board is doing half the work. I would recommend getting a cheap board just to practice with tho!

is the boosted mini S good for beginners/ people with no experience riding skate boards?

I think the normal boosted plus and stealth is a better choice because you have the flex on the Plus and Stealth so you whould be more comfortable when you are riding it and on the mini you don't have any flex. But the best thing the mini have is that it has is a kicktail so you can turn around corners easily. :)

Get a One Wheel, love my Boosted Board, but, this thing is a hoot, if you haven't tried one by the time you get back to Grapevine, will let you take it for a spin...

Sara you should check out brands like Wowgo, Ownboard or Meepo they have some great stuff for a decent price. The ownboard mini by example has a top speed of 38Km/h l 22km range and costs $480 dollars. Chinese brands have advanced quite a bit compared to a few months ago and thus Boosted had to answer with "cheaper" models.

Great review! I used to have a Blink S and ordered the Mini S so this was perfect for me! I'm pretty confident you didn't have the Blink S in pro mode though. When you showed the acceleration comparison with the boards laying up it took a while for the Blink S to get to top speed (which it does in normal mode). When in pro mode it's nearly instantaneous. I'm still surprised the S2 beat out the boosted!

I knew nothing about the ACTON BLINK S2 until this video. It beats the Boosted mini in every way. 2x the range (14miles) 5mp faster (18mph) 3lbs lighter (12lbs) Accelerates faster. $150 cheaper But the reason it sucks is that you can't break as fast? Gotcha.

I've got to respectfully disagree about the braking on the Acton S2. I have about 450 miles on my S2 and I've ridden a couple other boards, not boosted, but the acton s2 has incredibly smooth braking. I am able to accelerate downhill at close to 20-22mph and still be confident braking to a stop. I have heard the S is terrible at braking but not the S2.
