Regarding Sarah Fillier, not only is she a prolific points scorer right off the bat, but her goals and assists are just so danged gorgeous. Playmaking and beautiful goals are the key to selling the league. As for the schedule, taking breaks is not ideal, and losing momentum is bad, but what is worse to me is when the regular season ends. Counter programming the NHL playoffs is just a bad idea. The season should be starting a month earlier so it can end a month earlier and fit the PWHL playoffs into a window where the NHL is winding down its regular season and half the teams are playing near meaningless games.

@@striatic yes and yes! There have been murmurs the league might try a summer schedule. I don’t see them drawing women’s sports fans while the NWSL and WNBA are in-season. Maybe hockey fans, but I think staying true to the hockey season but starting earlier than late November is the best bet

@ I don’t understand why the PWHL can’t start right after the WNBA final ends in late October. Starting October 30th instead of November 30th would be so much better. In the Kraken Discord I frequent we have our own PWHL channel. As the Kraken fell out of playoff contention interest picked up in that channel but then was kinda obliterated after the NHL first round began. There’s an almost perfect month long window of Men’s Hockey Apathy preceding the NHL playoffs where PWHL playoffs would be a very welcome addition to the Hockey Calendar and I don’t understand why the PWHL wasn’t able to target that window this season.

@ totally agree! Hope we’ll see that in the near future.
