Her performance is always so amazing. I would love to be there. It seems virtually effortless to her. Her eyes always seem to be in awe, as if she is watching her poetry materialize before her eyes. Each gesture she makes is so deliberate and purposeful. I've yet to witness another poet who's every gesture perfectly illustrates each corresponding phrase; who's presence is so comfortable and owning. She truly belongs there. Gotta love this girl.

"Oh, Brother. No matter your wreckage. There will be someone to find you beautiful, despite the cruddy metal. Your ruin is not to be hidden behind paint and canvas. Let them see the cracks. Someone will come to sing into the empty spaces." And I found this part most beautiful

Saw her perform this in Manila tonight. I cried i cried i cried. I remembered my brother, how I'm a little too protective over him and I cried. I thought the Mrs. Ribeiro poem was her best, until I heard this live. Perfection.

I love how she doesn't say that it has to be a girl for her brother, she says gender neutral stuff. I love her and her poetry and I couldn't ask for a better role model.

Please tell me You also have a Audiobook. Your poems echo so beautifully in your voice that I'm afraid I'll read them wrong. I can just grasp at some of the meanings, since english is not my native language, but the feelings get me everytime. This one just made me cry.

Her best moment was from 2:25-3:25. The comparison of men and boats was really good. With a better beginning, and ending, that should be a poem all its own.
@ohalright14388 жыл бұрын
sorry but her expression is not yours to revise. poetry is self-sacrifice, whether if it's to yourself or someone else. in other words, only the poet can choose what pieces of their life they want to carve out of themselves. the audience's only job is to try to understand it. the ideas are open to opinions are criticism, but never the poetry itself.

I fell in love with her today. Well I fell in love with her yesterday, today. The words she spoke some time ago had only now met my ears. Sure she was pretty. She had a body that would ensure heads turned in whichever direction eyes pulled them. Her hair, Desperately trying to obscure her words, Only to be retreated by those hands. Those hands. My god, those hands. Hypnotising me, as they danced emphatically to the words that fell with grace and intent from her lips. What could be said about her lips. Moving effortlessly, yet with such passion and guile. Cultivating, and moulding her wordful art into a weapon. A weapon with the capacity to incapacitate the strongest of me, and women alike. The way her words were shaped into sentences and whimsical phrases. Drawing you in to the point of a chuckle or a tear, With minimal effort. That ability to have you hanging on to every syllable, As if they were a well sculptured climbing frame in a wonderful and creatively designed play park. Her listeners, reminiscent of the children that dangle from them. Her works had never crossed my path before, Yet here I am Frantically seeking more, Scouring the spiders Web of you tube, Ted talk internet sites, and anything else that may contain the words poetry or the spoken word. Needing to feel her vocal imagery pierce my ears just one more time. Then another, And another. My drug, her legacy.
