I love how relax their shows are. I think we're so overprotective. I was surprised that she could say fuck, and they said it a few times. I wish our talk shows were like that but all of ours seem so much more formulaic.

@OrphanSeasun they call it banter, but when it's two against one it could be seen as picking on someone! And I was joking (exaggerating), not confused.

They needed to explain why they made the video in the first place. . Jimmy Kimmel had a running gag on his show that Matt Damon was bumped from the show at the last minute. Jimmy wanted to have Matt on and he created the gag to get his attention. It worked.

@lostalex77 That was intentional sarcasm and irony. People constantly claim that they're "more American" than others or that they're "true Americans" while other Americans are not. But if you're in America, and a legal citizen, than you're American. There are really no other requirements to be American, and there's really no "American" style of humor, either. Her culture influenced her humor, but so have plenty of other things, so it's stupid to call something "American" when it really isn't.
@TokyoKazama10 жыл бұрын
Her comedy is quite 'hit and miss' either as a result of trying too hard or not trying at all. One thing is for sure, she's cute as a button.

+TokyoKazama Glitch
@jondunmore42682 жыл бұрын
It's hit and miss because she GOES FOR THE JUGULAR every time - she doesn't go halfway. And she misreads how far she can go - and then goes a little farther. I personally love that approach; the ones that hit are totally off-the-wall, and the others just slide off into the ones that hit.

@OrphanSeasun13 жыл бұрын
@terrywoodinc Um, no they're not - they're not picking on her nor are they intimidated. You're confused.
just wanted to say - i am an american who loves british humor, which, in my opinion, caters to a highest common denominator. especially, brilliant comedians like gervais and carr. also, the sense of subtlety and irony in brit comedy is unparalleled.

I don't think they were awkward questions, Madonna was an easy invitation for cheap laughs by just taking the piss out of them, should be very easy to do for any comic. The Jewish thing, most Jewish comedians love to talk about that, the whole self-deprecating humour thing they're famous for, and so what if he didn't know the TV show? it shouldn't really matter, it's not her show.
@olexia0714 жыл бұрын
Ricky's laugh is so hilarious and Gordon is so hot. Sarah is gorgeous and funny.
@awwwyeaboyeeee13 жыл бұрын
Nice to see Gordon laughing and screwing around. I feel like every time I see him he's dead serious on cooking or firing someone.
@rossallan99916 жыл бұрын
I think it was so awkward mainly because they just clashed. However, Jonathan asked her some really bad questions which I think would have totally killed a lot of other interviews altogether - the Madonna stuff, her therapy, and even seemed to critice her Jewish humour. Weird. And then he started asking her about Kimmel way too much and he didn't even know the name of his show. I think they both realised it wasn't working, became equally awkward and started trying too hard.

@Devin1488, depends on how intelligent you are and how in tune you are with American culture. Personally I think the UK has been Americanised to the point where I find most British comedians to be a bit crap (talking as a limey here).

@S5ate99lit3e - No, her style of comedy is NOT very American. Sarah is very unique, and culture or nation does not even play into it. She is bawdy in a way that is specific to her alone.

@S5ate99lit3e Yeah right, and Monty Python are complete enigmas in America. Your statement is a sad and disturbing one on several levels. For starters you underestimate the rest of the world while overestimating your own little corner of it.

What a bizare format for a talk show. Reminds me of Dick Cavet. However 'this' British host blows! It is pretty obvious that most Brits don't get US comedy! Even though most of US in the states get british comedy.

Yeah, and sometimes it isn't even being stupid or being brought up on a different style of humor. Sometimes it is that they just don't find the person funny. : D You can be as smart as Einstein and not find somebody funny you know.
