Hey Keelo, lived in Carnarvon and used to go to this area years ago and heaps of other camps near there each weekend, if you go a little south along the beach about 2km you'll find a small inlet bay, in it is loaded with crays..like hundreds and you can grab a couple for dinner by hand.😊. Also, do a good pre shark check, there is a few LARGE Tigers about.. Just a tip, when parked up in remote camp areas like this, leave the CB on scan (or handheld CB turned on in caravan) incase someone gets on and calls out for help, being out there, you help each other...In past, we have put out a boat fire with our jetskis and helped rescue an old couple from under their 4x4 who rolled all because of leaving the CB on scan/emergency channel at camp..plus you hear when whales are close and dolphins at the beach 😊 Great work, keep up great vids guys.. Cheers👍

For those out there who are sick of the 5-6km distance from their 5watt UHF CB, saying 'UHF' gets out a long way, 5-6kms IS NOT a long way people, especially when your in dusty flat remote outback country and the rear of group slows and you loose Coms as the rest drive off, one then starts to panic!😮 INSTEAD...STILL fit your UHF...BUT ALSO as extremely cheap insurance*, fit a backup coms, best being a 'HF' - AM/SSB CB, (27Mhz) for when one is way out remote bush, one of the vehicles (film crew) go a little too far, turn off or go AWOL and get lost OR the last person in the convoy stops for dust or emergency, having a AM/SSB CB you will ALWAYS reach each other in the convoy - period! You still keep and use your current UHF as per normal...but once you DO loose signal or contact on your UHF, reach over and pic up the AM/SSB CB mic and call out - you will contact them as well as all others around you in a 30km+ radius with their AM/SSB CBs. Just on 'AM' alone, you get up to 33km! Go press the SSB button..you then have a 15watt HF COMs for contact up to and over 80kms! (certain nights, you can even get well over 4000kms!) For a while now, all the pro 4x4 touring guys have a AM/SSB CB hidden away usually under their seats (due to sponsorship commitments) for contact when they are way out on outback remote roads. Even GC from 24/7 a while back saved a guys life when he used his AM/SSB CB to call out for RFDS assistance during a remote trip where due to the heavy rain depression cloud in remote Australia after a cyclone, where they couldn't get any satellite signal locks on either their Satphones or PLBs!! YES - 'AM' CBs are legal and why many off-road and 4x4 pros are using them again, not just for the guaranteed coms between each other, but chat is alot more professional and serious as there is WAY less swearing and Yobboism! 😊 Ebay has second hand 'AM' CBs for just $25-50, or Uniden do sell brand new $120 'AM' (510/520xl) or $220 AM/SSB CBs ('980 SSB') for those serious 4x4ers who always want Coms with the rest of the group no matter how far you stray or when all others in your group slip away. Just a little bit of free advice for everyone..hope helps those 4x4ers with 'communications anxiety' when travelling remotely. 😊 Cheers 🍻

Hi Sarah, get yourself a digital meat (probe) thermometer. You'll never have to worry about underdone chook again. Cook to the right internal temperature and all safe and spot on. Same for other meats no more guess work or stabbing the meat to check the juices and guessing now well done. Just cook to the right temperature and it will be spot on.
@KegRaiderАй бұрын
Yep, they are like $25 from almost any decent Butcher (or Amazon if you must). I smoke meat and chicken, always take the chicken internally to 75 degrees C and you won't get the 'squirts' :)

My parents experienced a tsunami at night on a creek there in the late 80's or early 90's, they were only camping out of the back of their old hilux so they reversed up the sand dune and watched other campers trailers get wet and eskies and pots n pans float away!

Hey guys can I ask a question about your outboard. Do you get petroleum fumes in the car. We have a 200 series also and have just purchased a true kit inflatable and trying to figure out where to carry the motor. Thanks
@SarahandKeelanTravels5 ай бұрын
Hey Tracie! Thanks for watching! No the fumes arnt bad at all, we don’t use the top 1.5L tank on the engine we have a seperate fuel tank we keep in the tunnel boot of the van. The only time we get fumes is when I run the outboard, take it off the boat straight into the car and there’s a tiny bit of fuel in the carby. Fumes last about 1 hour and they are gone! Hope that helps

Hey guys, must say I enjoy your videos. If you don’t mind I have a question. Retirement age coming soon and I’m looking at buying a small hybrid. Have found a nice looking tanami x11 . 2021 model. Think the same as your first van. Has some hail damage on roof, but only cosmetic, price seems reasonable, van looks in good condition. I would have to travel from Tasmania to purchase it in Victoria.. I have a 2017 Ranger for towing so that should be ok. What you guys think about the Tanami. Just a bit worried about the quality etc.. anyway thank you for any advice. Again, great work 👍

@SarahandKeelanTravels5 ай бұрын
These single lane tracks: We run around 15 on the van, 20 on the back of the cruiser and 15 on the front for these sandy slow speed corrugations! Tight sections go 10kmh-20kmh and then open sections of the track 40kmh. Be careful though every setup is different and some rims and tyres don’t bag out like others!!
