AVOID hidden hotel fees & travel fees to SAVE MONEY on hotel reservations

Usually if I'm booking a hotel for a specific activity, event, or vacation I want to make sure the hotel is close to or has easy access to the area I will be travelling each day, or if it's for a nonspecific vacation to know what attractions or activities are close by.

What happens if you don’t pay a fee and that you cancel your card can there be legal action?

Great question. If you don't pay a fee and the hotel hasn't had a chance to charge your card, and it states in their policies that the fee is required, that is basically a contract between the guest and the hotel. So the hotel could press charges, but a lot of times they don't unless it's for a very high amount. Otherwise it's not worth their time. I'm not sure if they can send it to collections. But I answer based on my experience only. Thanks Raven!

I got charged a cleaning fee when we did not leave the room trashed. In addition, housekeeping did not do daily cleaning due to covid so obviously it will be a little messier than normal. Cleaning up extra towels should not be an additional charge. How do I go about getting reimbursed?
