I'm hospitalized at 24 after a sudden health scare and a 6-hour urgent operation on my spine. The hospital doesn't have WiFi (I know, right?...) And with bed rest I'm bored out of my arse... I've decided to spend all of my data watching Sarah Millican videos. Best allocation of resources in the history of ever. I had to pause several times because my wound started hurting again from all the laughing, and a stand up rarely makes me laugh "out loud" more than once or twice. She broke the indifferent smirk cycle. A fucking treasure she is. Thank you for changing careers Sarah 😉 A kiss from a Venezuelan in Germany 😚

This is the first time my wife and I have sat down and laughed like this in far to long . It reminded us that we have been way to serious for to long, and that we still could giggle like kids and when we made eye contact, we knew we were still in love. Thank you for reminding me that, a relationship without laughter, love and passion will eventually be consumed by resentment, uncertainty, and bickering! This of course eventually turns into a stagnant toxic relationship. When I see her smile , I know that is not even close to happening. Still love her to pieces!! Thank you so much for the nice time🙂! It´s not just the voice. You´d find the same with a lot of other comedians, male or female. There is what they call timing, and in a show like this they plan this very well, or if you will - they build up to that moment. She´s very good at it, though, and she has a lot of facets that lets almost anything slide - I bet she could tell us that she killed and dismembered someone, and we´ll let it slide...

Everytime someone says female comedians arent funny i think "no way, what about Sarah Millican!". Keep it up Sarah!
@MartinWillett4 жыл бұрын
Sarah is funny without any need for a BBC quota. That doesn't mean that men and women are equally funny, they're not. Like most professions, the highest positions are filled mostly by men. Mostly, but not exclusively. Another reason why Sarah is so good is that she sets out to entertain and amuse, not to preach or protest. Whilst we picked up that her family would always have voted Labour there are no clues at all about what Sarah thinks about politics at all, which is great. I expect everybody gets the impression that she would agree with them, to an extent, but we never get any confirmation.

@@MartinWillett Sir, like most professions, the majority of higher level positions are held by men, not because men are better, but because they are viewed as being better, mostly by other other men. As soon as money gets good, it becomes a male dominated role (check out the history of coding). If you have an interest in learning more you might like the Guilty Feminist podcast as a starting point, all the best.

I love how she grosses out people then pulls you in with a poignant heart tug moment followed by balanced logic then a great twist of logic. I used to think female comediennes were rubbish compared to male ones. She slaps that idea in the face, she makes it seem effortless. As we all know, it takes a lot of work to make something look easy. Bravo
@paulbunyangonewild75962 жыл бұрын
I think it's the delivery, specifically women comedians that I've seen the not good ones they are just sort of like the "responsible girl" from a cartoon, and they just can't shake that personality trait. like this woman she talks as if she's talking to a friend as they both hate everything. she's good at being a comedian, more energy, more creativity, it's not a science, a funny story isn't gonna sound all that funny if delivered by someone who is just reading it off a card (not to say they are but you know how some people sound when they read, slowly as if they're still a first grader, sounding out the words and following along with their fingers) she's got quick jokes in rapid succession, if one misses the show goes on. I think it has to do with practice. people tell girls to not make jokes and stuff and encourage the boys you know?
@daviddieudonne78292 жыл бұрын
Yup, she’s amazing, always liked her and indeed unfortunately one of the rare funny women standups for me. I think it’s cause she’s being herself, most try so hard to be funny that it’s not funny. Sarah is just herself, which is extremely funny and not forced or fake. She’s just wonderfully nuts and it gets to you, funny from the start, but she really takes you in her crazy weird world and in the end you’re there with her. Loved it.

She is an absolute genius. She involves her crowad and the speed of her answers is amazing..Most stand ups do a quick audience involvement. Because its hard to think on your feet. But she is as sharp as nail .. And every answer is really funny..I've seen really good comedians. But never with that much involvement with the audience . Because the speed they have to answers. . So they keep it short. Bit she dose it through out her show . Amazing
