Hi Sarah thanks for the comment about Subaru CVT being ok. I've had my XT for 6 years now 106k miles, I use it on my farm (ranch in US parlance?) occasionally and it's amazing. 2 ATF changes and a lot of hard road driving and towing and it's still ok.

A great tip I found for pushing dead cars by yourself is to grab one of the wheels and turn it by hand. You get more leverage and it is much easier than just trying to push.

I did the Black interior look for my '03 Holden VY Series I S Ute 5 years ago using OEM. It came out far better than expected & still looks modern. Sourcing Subaru STi parts from Australia will be hard as they are snapped up quickly by Subaru owners here. It's just a matter of keep searching online. Lol I suppose we'll either have to call it the "Gump Edition" or "Subaru Forester SnT".

Once you get over your “PTSD” from Mr. Dos’ wiring project, I’m convinced you will eventually wire up the adaptive headlights on Gump. It’s kind of like the same reason mountain climbers climb mountains… 😉

The veil in the headlights, you are right. It is called VOC (volatile organic chemicals). At factories even the transport protectors need to be specially designed to let the vapour go, otherwise they would make veiled areas in the paintwork.

Thanks so much Sarah for your wonderful work. I am now working on THREE project cars/trucks - you have inspired me..... I am making great progress on three "oldies but goodies" that are not expensive or "super cars" by any stretch - but are all paid for - immaculate and make me smile. Two trucks - a 1995 K1500 Chevy and a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 - both 4x4 and regular cabs. And a future "sleeper" - a 2008 Chevy Impala that drives so much better than it should and cost me pennies to own/maintain. (even through I drive 64 miles one way to work daily) Over 30 mpg highway with a v6????? Anyway - thanks again for all of the knowledge and entertainment Sarah. IT is fun to see someone as OCD over their cars as I am!!!!!

14:26 yes, yes it is. I was kind of hoping the actual headliner on Gump was going black, or is it going to be in the future? The pillar trim looks sharp, it seems like a subtle change until you notice how big a difference it actually makes.
