Quick tip. All sand blasters are the same. Expensive or cheap. It’s all the same concept. If it keeps clogging, plug the business end of the nozzle with your hand firmly before you hit the pedal. It’ll blowback the stuck pieces and unclog it. You’ll need to keep doing it over and over. It also gets harder as more paint chips mix in with the sand/blasting material. Hope this helps

Those speaker baffles, we usually cut them in half or just use the top 1/3 of it just to keep water from getting on the top of the speaker. Also, the speaker sounds way better using the door as an enclosure as opposed to sealing that speaker in the foam baffle fully intact.

Former Ford parts manager and tech here. I could be wrong, but I believe the cabs for the ford pickups were the same from 2000 until the late 2010s I believe. Started my automotive career at the scrap yard and we would sell cabs all the time cause the interchange is huge on them. Thats why the front clip swaps are so common and easy on the fords, they would update front ends and interiors, move to new drivetrains and updated part designs but the cabs would be the same. So if youre having issues with the weather stripping or anything else you may be able to find one from a newer model single cab.

That molded foam enclosure you tossed actually served two purposes; one, weather proofing so moisture doesn't effect the transducer, preventing oxidation and shorting out. And, two, for sound purposes. A speaker on its own sounds like thin nothingness, that is why they are mounted in enclosures. It's where the tone comes from... js. I do enjoy your content.

Sarah! You should use butyl sound deadening in door panels when installing speakers, it will significantly cut back on vibration from the flat door panel, and can often times also quiet road noise following the same principle! This shit works a lot better than most of the deadening pads and moldings that are pre-installed on most cars. Some people also use these butyl deadening pads in replacement of a traditional vapor barrier as well, since it's sealed the exact same. Look into dynamat, or kilmat, or some equivalent company. Lots of car audio enthusiasts use this stuff for isolated sound systems, especially competition systems.

@kronos694810 ай бұрын
I'm thinking that those foam inserts for the speakers are possibly because those particular speakers may need to be in a sealed enclosure. This helps with frequency response and also helps to keep the stuff inside the door from vibrating at certain frequencies.
@mikelo30310 ай бұрын
So basically ditching those foam inserts for speakers turned your doors into huge speakers, and now you will hear all the back of the doors with your music, which basically will sound like a bathroom. Always use speaker inserts/dampening behind speakers. Always. It's a part of the speaker.
