I truly wish I could only work 5 days a week. That would be great. They only say overtime is optional 😂😅. I work at least 56 hours a week but then something we have to work 12 hours days but we only have to work 6 hours on Saturday yay 😁

Ok well at least it shows engine identification my truck three lines on the top of the black valve covers and the only engine designation is on the air intake snorkel tube says magnum V8

You absolutely DO need a break - you need to go somewhere else and just pamper the shit out of yourself for at least an entire week!! You work so hard, you totally have earned that for yourself, and you absolutely deserve it, because you are totally worth it!! You are amazing Sarah, but you still need to give yourself some routine maintenance like you do with all those vehicles, so that you can be refreshed to be able to keep doing all the wonderful work that you do. ❤

Find some downtime, and don't bring your phone with you. Maybe something like a micro cruise, or a 3 day weekend getaway somewhere. The most important part is to loose the phone and unplug during this time.

Also, you need to decompress or you won't be able to keep up the pace forever and things start to suffer. Get some help if you need to, it seems like there is plenty to do that someone else could help with. Bottom line, you CAN take time off if you schedule it and make it a priority. Please don't burn out Sarah!

Oh, make sure to get the Banks Power Monster Ram for that. It eliminates the heater grid bolt issue with those engines. Well worth the cost, versus destroying the engine. Maybe talk to @Banks Power here on YT, and I'll bet Gale Banks would be happy to help you out!

I vote red valve cover. It would look like a baby N14 (red head). Those engines were full red in most applications, but i think they were painted black in Dodge trucks to cut down on warranty claims for oil leaks. Anyways, great stuff Sarah!

If you absolutely can’t take any time off, definitely try to do what you mentioned in another comment and work some less intense, easier projects between the really major ones. I really do hope that sometime, sooner than later that you get to a point where you are able to take regular time off because as hard as you work, you really, really deserve it.

Kudos for doing a rattle can refresh better than most KZbinrs. Taking the time to mask off core plugs and such things really makes the end result look more professional. I hate it when anyone paints over core plugs and such like. That shows laziness and probably means they didn't even use a primer.

If you can afford the Cummins Marine valve cover I say “Go for it”, but if not go with satin finish on the valve cover on your engine. You’re doing a great job on this truck. Your attention to detail is so rewarding. 👍

Hardware I've wire brushed and silver and satin or semi gloss black spray painted hardware putting my junk project vehicles together more than once except for my rusty beat up well used 86 chevy k20 custom deluxe long bed 4x4 farm truck it got put back together with the rusty, dirty and oil and grime covered bolts, because it was assembled in a weekend to be able to make it driveable only to find out the gas tank was junk the seam flange that's crimped it was rusted all the way around the seam of the gas tank and poured gas out... And whenever i worked on the rebuilt motor or the truck,i regretted not doing a cleaner job putting back together a rusty and dented farm truck i still could have made it look better but i didn't...

after the celica and cummins swap, PLEASE take some time off and just try to organise getting the celica and mr2 tuned and driven, plus any other small jobs left on the forrester or ranger. then you can start a new project or get back into the audi or ford focus. i started this channel because of the MR2 and i really want to see you enjoying it.

My thoughts… Satin Black for the oil pan. I like the marine Cummins cover… perhaps you could put in the comments the cost and maybe some of your loyal viewers (including moi) would throw some dinero toward it(?). Given your level of OCD but also the insane hours you put in for our entertainment and education, there is absolutely no way I’d critique your paint job on that engine. It's not overkill. It's learning that "I shoulda done this when it was apart" experience. I feel your pain with the shop as I'm working out of a single car garage and while I have the room to go to a six car setup, it means jumping through hoops which include two local county entities for the blessing, and the money to build what is needed for now and the future.

Sarah is correct...once Cummins got a few early issues worked out, the 12 valve was mostly a bullet proof engine.

I like the idea of vapour-blasting the cover and pipe and doing the clear coat. For the oil pan - satin black would probably look best.

Using a variety of gloss/semi-gloss/satin/flat of the same color is a nice way to add contrast and interest. So...yeah, the oil pan should be different from the block. As for the valve cover, raw aluminum should look great, especially if that other piece is the same. Nice project, Sarah!!

Valve cover … raw then satin clear coat, same for the intake elbow. Oil pan satin clear over black, it’s just an oil pan. Awesome work Sarah, thanks!

Valve cover and oil pan should definitely be the same color. Also I learned a while ago that you should “bake” the paint with a heat gun in order to make it more durable. I accidentally read the instructions on the can one day😂. Keep up the great work!

For the valve cover I would go with option D. Marine valve cover paint matched to the cab, then paint the raised letters to match the block. Think it would be a nice little pop to the engine bay, albeit more work. Awesome truck whichever way you go, keep up the great work 👍

Hi Sarah, I've enjoyed the video. I know how it's to work all the time. You need some brake. Might I suggest that you take some of your cars for a few days road trip, get some rest from making and you will have to make just road trip video. I know isn't "just" but far less job than making stuff. I would love to hear how they sound, your impression from driving, etc.

Ya’ know the off-road games are kicking off this year in SandHollow… mid March timeframe. Matt’s off-road recovery is almost the polar opposite of Sarah. They go in get at it with th best they know how and use almost anything but factory parts, often higher duty rated but still not OEM like Ford axles on Jeep kind of thing. I think it would be hilarious to get the Sarah reaction to the MORR build process , go wheeling with them and them see how Sarah’s builds are so detailed, scrutinized and concours de elegance worthy. Lol maybe Sara could build a Corvair for Matt and Matt could build a trail weapon like Deja Blue the Dory the Dromedary Explorer??? Just a thought 😬

I recommend PIAA wiper blades on those rare occasions that you need them out there for what we call "water" here in the Midwest. High quality, which I know you like, and they have silicone in them which creates a water repellant barrier on the glass at all times so you don't have to apply things like RainX.

I think a raw clear coated valve cover would look nice. As for the oil pan, I don't think it matters. Which ever black paint is within your reach. Thanks for another quality video!
