This has been a long awaited, highly anticipated video which is really close to my heart. I've been feeling quite anxious to upload it but the aim of this channel is to help others, whether that be through health, fitness or acne struggles.
I truly hope this helps someone who is currently struggling with hormonal acne because I know how emotionally damaging it really is.

When you said “every morning I would wake up and touch my face” that literally hit me like a ton of bricks. I find myself in the middle of the night scratching at my face while I'm sleeping, trying to get my acne off. Acne is really no joke. It's taken over my life, literally.

I dont why , but I want to cry with this, you are the FIRST person thet really understand what really means to have hormonal acné, its terrible, it sucks, no matter how many masks you do, no matter the kind of diet, an the worst part is when you try EVERYTHING and nothing solve your acné problems. Most people dont undserstand the frustation that you have, when you have hormonal acné , they think that you do nothing for help yourself. Have acné decresses a Little bit your self confidence beacuse when you are talking to someone they are looking to your acné, some days that you wake up and look at the mirror and you see how bad is your acné that day that you prefer to stay at home. Thak you so much! this help me a lot! I am going to suscribe!

I do understand your frustration. I had hormonal acne for 10 years. I been on birth control pills, side effects were very bad on mental side, however helped with skin. When I stopped taking the pills my acne become worth. I recently tried new PepFactor treatment it's getting popular and believe me or not it Stopped my acne for good. Do it I believe if it helped me it will help anyone for sure :)

Hun. It is just an acne. I know, the word ''just'' seems a bit weird, but it is. It is just a small part of your life that is not perfect, and that's ok. You are not alone, and one day you will understand how small the ''problem'' was. You are beautiful, don't ever doubt that.

Carlina Licon Uhh! People can be extremely insensitive and mean. Please don't pay to heed to such negativity. I know when you have acne even the makeup doesn't feel like a friend anymore. But don't worry , things WILL get better. Try quitting dairy and sugar and see of your skin calms down. Otherwise , get your hormones checked. Also follow the skincare routine ; cleansing , toning and moisturizing. See if your skin loves oils and try using jojoba and Rosehip oil but if they cause any breakouts, use any other non-comedogenic moisturizer. All the very best !

This video honestly made me cry, because I can relate so much to everything you were saying. Acne is probably one of the worst things that has happened to me, and I understand that people have worse problems, but this is crazy how much acne can affect your self-esteem and how much it can fuck with your confidence in general. I really hope everyone who has acne right now stays strong, because it will pass and you will love yourself again.

Ive been hospitalized last March 2016 due to depression. I really had bad acne as in really bad in the last 15 years and I started visiting a dermatologist last 2011 and stopped seeking treatments first quarter of last year. Then I did research and made experiments on what to take, eat and apply on my face. Now, finally Ive come-up on a decision to start a 100 Days Acne-Free Challenge to myself which started just a few days ago. Also, I made a slideshow for the progress on the last 5 days and saw an improvement so lets see what happens next. Everything will be alright dear. You are not alone in this dilemma. I sincerely hope you will be okay soon. Goodluck to everyone here. :)

NOTHING compares to having bad skin. I have been skipping school bc of how bad my skin looks, I have been refusing meeting invitations from the very few friends that I have because of it, I have never been the one to approach a classmate at the beginning of a new school year and introduce myself because my skin looked so bad that I knew I would see disgust on their face. NOTHING compares to having terrible skin.

Being overweight isnt a problem honestly. Maybe im wrong because i cant relate to it. Im skinny and have bad skin. But honestly acne skin is nothing compared to cancer, having butterfly or birthmarks on your skin. Yes its annoying and it hurts. I've know from my experience with it. It dont make you ugly, everyone is beautiful with and without it. It isnt a problem because everyone gets it. Everone gets 1 or 2 sometimes but it goes away fast for them who have good genes. Stop saying that you are ugly and not blessed. You are beautiful the way you are. And yes sometimes these insecurities create more anxiety but just live with it.

Breaking out isn't necessary diet or make-up or lifestyle. Sometimes it's just uncontrollable. Hate it when some people go like oh quit make-up all that gunk is causing u to break out. Omg, I’m one of those people that genetically we all have good skin. I have always had flawless skin, maybe a breakout 4 times a year but for the most part, glass skin. I went off of hormonal birth control and then boom just like that I developed acne. It’s been almost a year now since stopping BC and it still hasn’t cleared up yet, but I have so much faith that it will clear up in the next 1-2 months. I never understood what those who struggle with acne deal with until now and when my skin heals and returns to its normal state, oh how appreciative I will be of my skin. This experience has truly humbled me but I’m thankful for it because my skin healing and going back to normal with make me appreciate it so much more! I’m so sorry you are dealing with acne, I feel your pain ❤️

Everything you said is what I have been going through for years. It touched me so much that I cried. Thank you for this video! It shows that I just have to find a hormone specialist to help me, because the signs my body are showing are not normal. I gain weight easily and have a ton of cellulite, despite eating healthy; my acne covers my cheeks entirely, that I have to photoshop them out of pictures; I'm losing a ton of hair, and the only way I have been maintaining it is through Rogaine; I sweat profusely out of nowhere; and the list goes on. When I go to the doctor, they always brush it aside and say that nothing is wrong with me or they blame it on genetics, but this is NOT a genetics problem. My parents never had this problem during my age. The doctors never listen to me, but my body clearly screams that there is something wrong with me. So now I'm just going to request to see a hormone specialist, because I can't take this anymore. You inspired me to seek help, so I thank you for that :)

+storres0413 Wow your symptoms are pretty much identical to mine! Mainstream doctors always do that don't they! They say oh you're fine, or they laugh at you encase you are stressing about your skin and hair, and I found that often my doctors would sit there, smirk and say, you need to relax, you could be in a worse position. That was NOT what I was there to here. Thats why I am sooo happy finding a holistic based doctor who treats me through food, diet and herbs. Don't be deterred by your doctors, I urge you to find a holistic practitioner who can provide you with the information and guidance that you need! Good luck chick! I hope you can cure your acne and balance your hormones xx

I'm always feeling self concise when I'm talking to people that I don't even look at them I just stare at the floor or act as if I'm looking somewhere else just so they don't stare at me and days when I don't want to wear makeup I do anyway just to hide my acne....Even when I had a boyfriend ( We broke up) I almost didn't want to be with him because I was always feeling self concise about him staring at my acne and being disgusted by me. I just want to be happy with my skin.

I’ve been struggling for years now with my hormonal cystic acne, I’ve changed my diet, changed my skincare to all natural and organic products, stopped wearing makeup, drink tons of water, etc. and sometimes my skin will be super clear for a few days then it’ll become super inflamed and red again, tiny zits everywhere, huge oil glands and build up, under the surface ginormous cystic acne and it’s so discouraging. I started taking vitamins about 1-2 months ago and have seen slight changes in my skin but nothing drastic. This video had encouraged me to find an all natural holistic doctor to help me with my acne. Thank you for this! You’re so inspiring and real and it’s so appreciated. Love you ❤️

It was deep in my skin on my cheeks and chin, it hurt everytime I made any type of expression. Later on, it moved to my body, my back and my chest. I still struggling with it and don't know what to do anymore. Like you it makes me depressed but I shouldn't be depressed because it causes more acne. I don't like anyone looking at me. Wow I didn't expect to cry while watching this video. I struggled with acne about 2 years ago, went to a dermatologists, got on some type of antibiotic and it cleared up. Now fast forward to today, my acne is back, more painful and irritated than before. It's hard going into public, no amount of makeup will even cover it. Patients at work will make comments, trying to "help", when it just makes me feel worse about myself. I don't want to go back on the pills but right now it seems like its the only solution. I worked so hard to rebuild my self esteem once my skin finally cleared up, and it seems like in just a blink of an eye I am back to square one and if theres a light at the end of the tunnel its no where in sight right now...

I know this is a comment that I am leaving on a video that you made four years ago, but listening to you talk about the way you felt mentally while suffering from cystic, hormonal acne has helped me so much. I have suffered with acne pretty much my whole adolescence. I got my very first pimple in seventh grade, and things only escalated from there. In high school I saw a dermatologist and she put me on a pill that worked, but was very much a temporary fix. Along with that pill that she had prescribed to me (this was not a birth control pill, but another kind of pill used for acne), I was using several different topical creams which only worked a miniscule amount. My skin would fluctuate and go from good and bad and I figured when I became an adult it would get better. That was a completely wrong assumption. My skin FIRED up bad when I got to college. I have never ever seen my skin like this before. I used to only breakout around my chin and cheek area, but now I have cystic pimples all over my forehead, ALL over my chin, and flare ups here and there on my cheeks. Not only do I have these pimples, but my acne scars prevent me from not wearing makeup everyday, which I know is not good for my skin either. This has severely impacted my self-image and mental health. Every morning I wake up and the first thing I do is check if my pimples are still there. I have been on birth control for two months now, hoping that it will start showing me some signs of improvement. My parents and sibling (and even my friends) tell me that they dont notice my pimples, that my skin is "really not that bad", and other things that are meant with good intention but dont usually end up helping me. It is SO hard to accept yourself when you cant even look at yourself in the camera, in pictures, and in the mirror in general. I find it hard to take selfies or even look at myself in the mirror when I am brushing my teeth. Hopefully I find a solution for myself soon. It is so so nice hearing it from someone else's perspective, to know that I am not alone in this, and to just read the comments on this video :)

Every time I complain about it and have breakdowns about it he’s just like “wash your face more. Don’t stress out. If it’s so bad go on accutane” like forreal clear skin people have NO idea the kind of depression that can come w being a full grown adult and the ONLY person in the room who still has hormonal acne. I genuinely HATE sitting standing in the sun or fluorescent lights bc i can feel the bumps sticking out on my skin. I was even on accutane in Highschool and it only made my cold sores flare up insanely and never actually cured the acne. I’m so sick of every person AND the stupid dermatologists treating all acne the same. I finally realized I had fungal acne and hormonal & now by regulating the testosterone w my doctor and taking spiralactone + retin-a + sulfur shampoo masks my skin is finally getting better little by little *exhales*

Hey Sarah, I can't even begin to tell you how incredibly refreshing it is to know that I'm not alone and that their are genuine doctors out there that take a holistic approach to medicine and are willing to really take on board your symptoms and work with you to not only manage your hormones, but also get to the root of the problem rather than just prescribing the pill or another band aid to hide your problems. I recently got "diagnosed" with PCOS after receiving my blood test results which also showed abnormally high testosterone and androgen levels. I can't even believe how similar my experience has been and today I nearly left my doctors of office in tears from the frustration of being told that there was no point exploring any natural alternatives to balancing my hormones and that I should just go back on the pill and get on with my life. I also live in the Shire and would love to know which practitioner you went to as I am desperate to speak to someone who will actually listen, and work with me to help me help myself. If you could give me a recommendation for who you go to I would be so grateful!! You really have been such an inspiration :) xx Thanks

+Annalissa Lopes Oh my gosh tell me about it!! My 'mainstream' conventional doctor was basically laughing at me when I told her I thought I had PCOS or my hormone levels were out of whack. She didn't care and told me my only options were the pill or roaccutane. The place I went to is called the Happy & Healthy Wellbeing Centre in Miranda, the Naturopaths name is Hayden. I am still super super happy with him and the herbs (hormones tonic) I am taking. Definitely hit them up and book an appointment! Such better quality and care than conventional doctors... in my opinion anyway :) xx

Thank you so so much for posting this. I'm currently going through the exact same thing. I was on the pill for 11 years, went off it for the first time last March of 2018, and starting November of 2018 I had acne that is persistant and will not go away. Finally last month in August my acne was the worst it's ever been. I've been doing everything I can to clear it up, and I thought the same thing you did, there's something internally going on. I'm going to my doctor to get my testosterone and hormone levels checked next month. Thank you so much for posting about this because it feels so good knowing that someone else out there goes through this.

Thank you so so so much! I’m in the same boat as you were.. right now, I am living an alkaline vegan lifestyle and it has been about 1.5 years since I have been on any form of birth control. I had been on birth control for majority of my mature life, so my body became literally dependent on it. It doesn’t know how to properly regulate my hormones. My acne has been uncontrollable, I have unnecessary cellulite, brittle/thinning hair, abdominal fat, headaches, insanely heavy periods (which last three-4 days and then become nearly nonexistent), moodiness, etc. I find myself caught in a loop of research just trying to explain what my body is telling me.. Your video, by far, has been the closest experience to mine and I just want to thank you so so much. I have been really diving deep into herbs such as damania, sarsparilla and then flax, reishi mushrooms, raspberry leaf tea, etc. This has really helped. In addition, I am about to detox my liver and I have found significant links of the liver to this condition. I haven’t been officially tested because I’m very spiritual and believe in listening to my body; however, I feel that I have an estrogen dominance and very low progesterone which in turn causes higher testosterone as well. This is my first video of yours that I have watched so I’m not sure if you’ve done an update, but I’m really curious to see how you are doing now. Has your body learned how to naturally balance itself yet?

I do it to prepare myself to put on my glasses and look in the mirror. I have no pictures of myself, It makes me feel like I always look bad or sick or dirty. it affects me from the time I wake up to the time I go sleep, I have dreams about it. When I am supposed to be studying (like right now) I'm doing this--- researching acne. trying to figure it out. Every mask, every "hack", every cleanser, every brand, every topical, every pill (Accutane 2x), every diet, I've done it all. I'm 21 and my skin just keeps getting worse. I just wanted to thank you so much for making this video. Ever since I started puberty (which was quite young at 10 years old) I’ve had acne. I haven’t seen a single day of clear skin since I was 10 years old. And in this video you legitimately made me cry when you were taking about how it feels to have severe acne, as I feel the same way. My mom owns a health and wellness business so I always have eaten healthy and used natural safe products on my body/skin which does help a little bit. However even with that, my acne has never improved so recently I’ve been debating going on the pill even though me and my mom against how unnatural it is. This video helped me to realize I should be focusing on my hormones and listening to my body to discover how to fix the underlying issue. Thanks again and sorry this was so long.

Awww I’m so sorry you’re going through this :,( My sister and I also had massive breakouts like this in our early 20s and we still don’t quite know what happened, but we are pretty sure it was aggravated by stress and lack of sleep. Women desperately need chill time! ❤️ For us it was completely different, she ditched makeup completely (so brave!) and got prescribed tactuo, which is a specially medicated face wash and cleared up her skin over the year after. For me it was just cystic acne around my chin and forehead cycling through and now at 29 I went through a strange hormonal change and now I just get sebum acne on cheeks and jaw?? However my acne has diminished a lot, I might suggest switching makeup brands and changing to oil-free, eating meals with ginger and turmeric, and moisturizing your face daily. Thai food tends to work pretty well for me and doesn’t aggravate my gut as much as white breads and sugars. These helped me quite a lot but I will probably be stuck with hormonal acne forever. Alas, women’s bodies are basically transformers, and so complicated that the solutions are different for everyone... I really hope you can find some cures one at a time to help. The good thing is that intense acne does not last forever! Fingers crossed

I went on birth control in high school for heavy periods. It cleared my skin up for 10 years. I was on Yasmin. I had to stop the birth control because it gave me a blood clot at 26 years old. After I stopped the birth control my acne came back in full force. I had never had cystic before, but now I have been battling it for two years. Don't go on birth control for acne! It will only come back 100 times worse later on. And yes, girls, you will care about what you look like at 26.

I've had acne since I got my period when I was 13. I'm 24 now and have tried so many different remedies but nothing helps. I don't break out that much now but the scarring doesn't go away. I'm sick of it. Sometimes I just feel like scraping the skin away. When you've tried so many things and nothing works, you just come to the realisation that even if it's the best remedy, your skin will be immune to it.

I totally relate to you. I'm 28 now and have been having acne since 13. The scars and bumps are a nightmare. But I have learned to live with it. I don't like mirrors because I can't bear to look at my skin. I use it to the minimum. The worse part? I am obese too 😧

I started my puberty at age 9, my chest hurt, i got pimples all over my face and 2 years later i got my period. to all the other kids i was known as that pimple girl. I am 15 now, and i hope when i start using the pill that my acne will finally go away and that my period cramps wont spread all the way to my legs anymore.

The pill screwed up my hormones tremendously!! I feel your pain. I went off of it and my body totally forgot how to regulate my hormones. I didn't have a period for a year and a half. Started taking vitex (chaste berry) and it took a few months but soon enough my periods became more regular than EVER before! My skin finally cleared up and I felt healthy again. Herbal supplements that naturally help regulate hormones are truly a godsend. I also used traditional medicinals tea for hormones (I forget what it was called) and Vilantae for quite some time too. I can't say which helped the most perhaps it was the combination.

Wow!!!! You made me cry 😭 Thank you so much for sharing 🙏🏼 this is literally my story and I was planning on going to the doctor next week to take all those tests. After getting off of Yasmin my skin broke out so bad I got back on it. When I found out about all those people suffering with blood clots, i ended up stopping it. Main reason being that blood clots run in our family. My skin ended up looking the worst I’ve ever seen it... face, chest & back (this was completely new!). It looked so awful that I ended up getting on another birth control - the shot depo (3 months) follow by the implant in my arm depo-provera (3 years). I have 1 more year left on this birth control and before I get off of it I’d like to stabilize my hormones...because i can see and feel my hormones are acting up while I’m on birth control so clearly something is going on. I’m glad I came across your story because I’m going to at least start by taking the right vitamins. So thank you 💕

I just recently cleared my acne and then went off birth control without it coming back just from balancing my hormones naturally - it can be done!

I have never related to a video more... It's so nice to find someone who feels the same way. The pill has completely fucked me over but i will never go back on it regardless of my skin. Hope we all find the answers to our prayers soon

This is the most relatable video ever, went through exactly the same stuff - still going through it I should say. Ive been on the pill for a while and Im just not too sure about it as well as doxycycline and this has inspired to to find out what is really going on in my body. I've watched legit hundreds of these videos and this was definitely the most helpful and encouraging. Thank you for sharing your story :)
