Have you been to Saranda? What do you think of Saranda and its great Promenade? Suggestions on things we should do? The Albanian people are so gracious and lovely.

Go to Ksamil at some point ideally get a bus there. I would recommend going there on a sunny day

@@ag5688 we've been before but will be going again! Ksamil is great when it's low season. In summer it's too crowded we do not like that.

How did I miss this. Anyway a great vid. Those temps and crowds suit me much better. Id like to go there , go via Corfu from UK. So no long buses etc. Nice cookies. Never got to see bracelet tho ! Nice day and nice place. Your both real happy here.

We were there in June 2023 and the Promenade was packed mini boat tours and they were very strict about no scooters on the walking area

I bet it would be busy then... and probably even more so in July and August. I wouldn't want to be in Saranda that time of the year, other places would be better. We aren't into crowds.

Love the stunning scenery mixed in with roughness of back streets and renovations. Very interested in which bank you are using and the fees.

I think UNION bank... uhm, the fee I think is 500 LEK. If you don't make too many withdrawals a month it's not a big deal.

@@JayandSarah thankyou We hears Credin was the go to bank with no fees. We traveling there 8n June for 3 weeks so following your videos with much interest

@@trevorvardy9224 thanks so much for following! Credins USED to be the bank with no fees, that is no longer. In our first visit to Albania, we used them for no fees. They now charge like every other bank in all cities. In 2022 they had no fees but it changed in 2023.

Missed you guys. Verore, the string bracelet, are supposed to be taken off when you see the first swallow. They are supposedly the first birds to appear in the spring. Ballokume are only made for the summer day traditionally but nowadays with all things being available all year-round and with the wide spread consumerism some bakeries probably sell them year-round. Best place to have them is in Elbasan as it is from there that they were first were incepted as a recipe and as a tradition.

What made you choose to begin your stay in Saranda? Just curious. Loving your videos! I'd love to see your apartment and what you pay for it. I realize it's off season, will you stay through the busy time or go elsewhere?

We came here because we were making such a drastic life change having sold off everything we owned, we wanted something familiar. We already knew some people here, knew the area and knew what to expect.. so it just took some of the stress away. We will not stay during the busy time, I think this would be not a nice place to stay during that 3 month period, We can stay for 90 days out of 180 here as Canadians so we have to leave anyway. Our next stop is Montenegro.

@@JayandSarah That makes total sense. We did the same thing in 2019 to Ecuador. I've seen videos during the high season and it doesn't look pleasant to me either! I'll be interested to see all about Montenegro!
