I was there in July from Corfu. I love it there in Saranda. I went to Ksamil and Butrint National Park. I will come back for sure to live longterm. Nice people and slower and cheaper than Corfu!

Very nice video, full of useful information. The city of saranda looks really beautiful, full of life. And the view from your apartment...amazing. a pity that was so noisy in the night. Do you have any idea how the city looks outside the summer season? Is there anything to do there, to go out and enjoy life? How are the prices there in comparison with the rest of the country?
@waysoftheworld_2 жыл бұрын
Hi Loredana. Thanks so much! :) That apartment was great and especially for the price, but it was intense. We did not sleep. The solution is to go out and party every night 😂 To be honest, I don't think there's much to do in Sarande if it's not warm, since everything revolves around the water and waterfront, sitting outside, etc. And in terms of prices, it was a little bit more expensive but not too much to be honest. You will notice in Albania that vegetarian food is super affordable everywhere, but anything with meat will be almost like US prices (and not the best quality in a lot of cases). Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any other Q's. Happy Sunday!!

Sorry you guys had some bad experiences in Saranda. Yeah, you're not the first ones. Actually, there is a discussion in the media and government level as to how tourists are robbed from some local businesses in Saranda and elsewhere and they are striving to get solutions. One is to educate those people that it is in their disadvantage as it will discourage tourism in general and thus it will be their loss in a long run. But can't believe you didn't have a splash in that public beach in Saranda and at the Blue eye. If you were at the peak season July and August yeah $75 was a good deal for the money rest assured. If this was in September yeah a bit much. Every video I watch from you just wow's me. Wonder how you can compare Albania with Venezuela! Cheers
@waysoftheworld_2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for the kind words! Yes, I think education is key. We were so so upset when it happened honestly, and little things like that really affect tourism. We experienced this in Mexico as well and it really left a bad taste in our mouths. It sucks because 99.9% of people in Albania are OUT OF THIS WORLD NICE and then there's people like that lady who do not think about the future... anyways, we hope it changes. It is nice to hear that something is being done about it! And about Albania and Venezuela... so many things! 2 beautiful countries, with so much natural beauty and with very special people but unfortunately safety is a big problem in Venezuela and of course, corruption :( We truly hope the corruption in Albania slows down a little bit because we would hate for Albania not to become what it should. It's a very special place everyone should know about and visit ❤️

Hi. We liked Albania. We visited lot of places. Vlore.. Berat. Kruje. Durress . And Tirana. We went up dajti mountain also. So lovely. Can I ask u why u don't now eat seafood. We dont eat it anyway but I couldn't understand what u said as to why u dont eat it now

That's awesome! Sounds like you had a great trip :) We're big fans of Albania too! - We stopped eating seafood because we watched Seaspiracy and decided to stop. We only eat it if we know exactly where it's coming from. We make very few exceptions ;)

@@waysoftheworld_ oh right. You hear that it good to eat it too cos it has zinc in it and other minerals. There lots of food that we get told not to eat or should eat. We just eat fish anyway. Salmon mostly. I had sea bass in tiranna. Which was nice. Are u guys travelling anywhere at the moment

Hi :) We think so... the water might be very cold, but there will be less crowds and the temperature during the day would be around 70 degrees. We were there in late June and it wasn't very busy and it was very hot. So it really depends on what you like :)

Why and how did the lady rob you? Give details else don’t speak. You can literally call the police if you get scammed and they’ll be so helpful to you as a tourist.
@waysoftheworld_2 жыл бұрын
She overcharged us like 10X the price, no receipts, cash only. Cool to know you can call the police for that. Her business should be shut down. It wasn't just us, if you read the Google reviews, she does this to everyone! And the reason why I didn't get into details is because I didn't want to spend too much time getting upset again about what happened. It was just a warning for other people not to shop there!
