The is genuinely so fucking cool. I particularly loved how well you breezed through the enunciation of what is essentially an alien language which REALLY helped retain that "otherworldlieness" of the chant. Super impressive stuff man. As a hardcore Dune fan, you did good. Also for real the production/post production work on this is really pretty damn clean. Nothing is muddy and it's really evocative of the scene from the film, peeerfect amount of reverb and "fullness". Again, this was fucking awesome

@@militustoica To be fair, she thought EVERYTHING was “Satanic.” It extended even to some of the guests on the Lawrence Welk show, which is probably the most bland mid-20th Century Americana that exists. Her whole family was like that. My father just didn’t like it because it was really loud. In hindsight, I understand my father’s plight a bit better, and wish we had been less disruptive of his little time without something causing stress, noise, or setting-off his wife (our Mother), who was so easily driven to hysteria.

I do wonder if Mongolia is going to be one of those countries that will start booming financially because of the large interest in the Dune chant, with people looking up about throat singing, and a sudden interest in Mongolia rises up especially with it being the least populated country compared to size in the world. Just a casual thought.
@Despotic_Waffle3 жыл бұрын
Bro, mongolian throat singing became a niche interest and then a big meme years before this came out. If anything, the fact people associate this with mongolian throat singing is because the community is so active and mongolian throat singing is mildly popular within internet culture. But its even more popular with people who are interested in far east cultures and histories.

I doubt it..Not just because of 1 movie. There's already been Mongol bands that got pretty big like The Hu and it's not really getting that much tourism.

i honestly do not know what to say....that was AMAZING!!!! and on par with what throat singing IS!

there is obviously some sort of voice bass sync going on...i would love to know what it is as throat singing does not have the echo you have in this vid....but still AMAZING!!!! :D

@@RenVasTerul i have listened to it a few times now it is on par ;) i still do not know how to do the deep throat sound but let me go through your vid a few times and i should get closer...i am really close to that sound :D
@thorax9997 Жыл бұрын
@@RenVasTerulhey if you want to own the sound, get a mixer recorder(that has the lower decibel recording limits enabled) to show how low you get....you do not have to do this but it would help to show the low audio level(i say this s you example here is on par with what it should be); your throat singing is done at. again you do not need to do it but a visual aid would be top level helpful. i have listened to a few and you are the 3rd lowest i have heard...the other 2 do not have a page to follow..plz do a few vids :)

I remember seeing an interview with hans zimmer where he explained that the chant isn't actually made by singing but by a weird native wooden flute thingy, so pretty cool you got lyrics out of it xd

The movie's Sardaukar throat singing chant is something that would fit well into the legions of the bloodthristy Daevite Empire from the SCP Mythos that worshipped and zealotrally follows the will the Scarlet King Khahrahk. The singing reminds me of a combination of norse and mongolian throat singing which in the SCP Mythos a fragment of the Daevite Empire that was stationed on Earth did take over large portions of mongolia. Edit: I completely enjoy the idea of the Daevite Empire and in my head canon believe they are still out there but the true Empire is far larger and far more powerful then one may imagine. After all a Empire that has been around since the days of the mythos's Ancient Humanity and went to multiple wars with them for a long time maybe far greater then what was depicted. Still raging a cosmic war even after the fall of the order of Ancinet Humanity and Adam El Asem was complete. *"Like a unending flood that washes and consumes the small pebbles of stone of the ground, amies shall be shattered and dimensions shall be torn asundered by the mighty legions who serve our creator and father, Khahrahk the Scarlet King who breaks the will of lesser deities grinding them to scarlet dust. We are the Daevites a neverending, and always enduring Empire that never sleeps, the true children of the Scarlet King and nothing may stop the Scarlet crusade and the Dark Below's advances where all shall be remade anew. Not the siblings Yaldabaoth and her abominations and faithless pretenders or Mekhane and his mekhanite cowards,, not the order of failure Rakmou Leusan, and certainly not the remnants of Adam's seed who once defiled us but fell."*

This is awesome! I think the literal ONLY thing that's off and part of what made the original so uncanny was that it sounds like the priest was changing vocal patterns at an unnatural speed and also some of the words cut off and start at an unnatural speed
