England is having a structural issue, losing the ball in midfield and then not getting back on defense, leaving their defense exposed repeatedly. A better team will punish England.

Yes, they will not get away with that against Germany, France, Spain, Norway, Sweden or Netherlands.

It's good to get back to winning ways. I still think Leah isn't at her best, maybe if she improves at club level that will help her. We are clearly not playing as we did before the Euros. We look slow, passing at😮 times is sloppy😅 Good to see Grace & Jess played well. Looking forward to USA but we need to be at it more...

This performance was more disappointing than the game against Germany. Please, Sarina, stop your defenders continually playing across the penalty area. If only Williamson had the same mindset of Alex Greenwood to get play going forward.

I think Maya did well as well. The mistakes were passing more back and didn't have an option. Maybe other players should help by being closer. Much learnt by Sarina.

@@stephencooper1307 England lives and died with passing from the back. Feels like the old England pre Sarina. Issue is England has a lot more experience right now and this shouldn’t be happening. One reason could be ability, not having the right defenders to effectively counter what is a faster pace women’s game. In the past year more faster pace athletic forwards players are shinning. You see it a lot in the NWSL. Europe hasn’t caught up to this yet and they’re still all following the ball playing built up from the back Spain employed effectively to win the World Cup. Even Spain struggled to deal with pacy players and their Olympic performances was a case in study.

I see so many sarina haters comments wow unbelievable and how people can be fickle and clueless when her team was winning trophies 🏆 in 3 years tenure and counting praising her as the best coach in the world and the lioness ranked number one after winning the finalissma 2 years ago against brasil and now losing a couple of matches being friendlies she is being slated 🧐🤔

She comes across as very intelligent and knowledgeable about the game. The problem is she can only select from the players that are available and is totally dependent on their quality. The other European nations are improving as fast or faster than England are improving. By the next Euros there will be five or six other nations that will be on a level with us.

Also the women’s game is getting a lot faster. It takes one or two pacy forwards to undo a poor backline, midfielders not tracking back, casual on the ball. In the NWSL there are numerous forwards like that. Even the South African forward who terrorized England played recently in the NWSL and now she’s in the Mexican league. Australia got a rude awakening at the Olympics when they had to deal with Orlando Pride Banda. Spain had a tough outing against Brazil at the Olympics and so forth. While Sarina is still employing the tactics from the Euros with injured players and unfit stars.

Giving the ball away has become a disease of this side. Stanway , Bronze , Toone and now Williamson. Not to mention Greenwood against the Dutch which cost them a trip to the Olympics. These players needlessly give the ball away often under little pressure in dangerous areas.

Should've been a SA red card for the cynical foul on Russo; she was on course for a goal that would've changed the perspdctive of the latter part of the game as well as boosted her personal confidence. Had Toone not been flagged offside in the game against Germany, Russo's goal would have changed the perspective and result if that game also.

She has failed to refresh the team, preferring to hang onto players who are well past their best! The result being humiliation by a South African team which consists of mainly amateur players! England have no chance in the upcoming Euro’s, if you think otherwise then you are dumber than I could ever imagine! I predicted a German win of 3--0 over England. A little out I guess. Never mind, here is my prediction for the game against the USWNT….It will be a total humiliating score of 10-0 to the US, and the end of Wiegman’s tenure.
