Thank you very much for this tutorial, I just started playing around and trying out UE5 and Im having some difficulty finding meshes/object that I want to put into my scene. So I decided to make my own but the modeling tools overwhelms me, for a beginner like me it helps a lot. Thank you very much👍

Thank you, I hope you get a chance to make videos for the 5.4 modeling tools. Epic seems to have changed a lot of the UI in 5.4. Some of the modeling workflow seems to have changed as well.

Hello, I am a Unreal Engine user for game making. I want to learn 3d modeling. I first tried Blender, but I had a lot of difficulty because I was used to unreal engine controls. Can I model structures such as houses in Unreal Engine 5? Which application do you think I should choose

Hi, It ultimately comes down to which application you’re most comfortable with. Personally, I’d model in Maya, but for someone used to procedural workflows, Houdini might be the better option. For hard surface modeling, Unreal Engine does a decent job as well. By the way, that video you commented on is old. When exporting from blender (super simple geometric meshes) Is there a need to “triangulate” my mesh within blender, via settings or something to ensure it gets converted properly? Is shade smooth necessary?

@@sarkamari oh trust me I’ve watched it many times lol. And part two. I come from sound design so all this game engine software makes making music look so simple.🤣🤣. I’m having a problem. I don’t know if you’ve heard it or have any ideas , I’m successfully using blueprints and casting to send audio amplitude data via float and automate perimeters such as light intensity however, in my view report, it seems to be working and in the game works, but in render it does not seem to show up, the lights are moving or animated are the ones that do not show up. other lights, even if set to moveable do in fact show up

@mitchellrcohen Good question. Sadly, working with sounds is a topic I've never had the chance to dive into. Unfortunately, my guess is as good as yours on this one.

I am new to UE 5 but why does it look so different? I'm in modeling mode but it does not show a tab called "shapes". Modeling tools are enabled. Also a lot of options are missing, I feel kinda dumb ^^

How would you do subd modeling nondestructively with this? It doesn't have a subd modifier like Max or Blender

The modelling tool in UE5 is basic. Even in the current version it doesn’t supports any form of procedural workflow so naturally for more complex modeling tasks you should rely on other DCCs. It does show the direction the epic games is heading which is a promising starting point.

@@sarkamariNor having to apply the subd is pretty basic. I see lots of tools that either the Blender or MAX don't even have or tools that work in a more creative and modern way than old tools in those old softwar. Don't care too much about other modifiers but like Subd and Symmetry I find that pretty odd not to have.

not really. if you want to model, use blender/maya etc....if u wanna learn unreal engine then this gives you more access to the engine which = less time learning other software.
