You're right. Working with sharp knife without cutting gloves is dangerous. But safety tape is a good solution if you don't like using cutting gloves

Hell, I am on an anti-coagulant so I won’t even try to hold and cut like that, it could literally be the end of me.

You use the large chisels lot right from the beginning to remove a lot of wood, 🤔.. I am only a beginner and am using the flat blades similar to yours and a multiple blade pocket knife with curved blades and small chisel attachments which I use for the final details. I think I need invest in more chisels

Finger Guard? What, use are the Finger Guards?!?! When, carving with a Wood carving Gouges, and Cutting towards soft flesh of your thumb.. When, carving with carving chisels and of gouges, the work piece must be securely clamped down.

The last tutorials don't seem to have patterns. I haven't seen them in my emails or at the pattern site. I end up using pictures
