Sasae Tsuri Komi Ashi is one of the premier foot sweeps being used at the highest levels, including ADCC. In this video we cover the mechanics and how to practice and develop your Sasae, as well as other utilities of the move.
We also break down how the move has been successfully applied by members of John Danaher's New Wave squad in ADCC and Who's Number One by Giancarlo Bodoni and Gordon Ryan.

This was a fantastic system of the simplest fundamentals. Very efficient yet leads to many options. And low risk. It's perfect and beyond criticism. Some videos are just that good!

I definitely need to drill foot work more. I think the one component of this that I see how consistently you apply throws and sweeps is confidence. Training with y’all has made me a lot more confident on my feet, but I need to drill the footwork more so that I don’t kick my partner and bruise our shins. 😬 It’ll come. 🙏 Thanks for going over the sasae!

Early work on this is definitely likely to create some bruised shins 😅

Try it when someone interlaces your fingers in the hand side.
@flowtheorygrappling

It’s more difficult to hit the full takedown from the interlace, but still has utility to offbalance for snap downs. However, clearing the interlaced fingers is often as simple as flicking your hand downward to break the grip, though might take a few tries. One good option is to thumbpost the far elbow until you’re ready to switch do the shoulder push. Thanks for the comment.

@@flowtheorygrappling Yeah it's much more difficult to land on the hand side without the gi. Takes great timing and an opponent who hold on for a little too long. Prob more to just get them to the ground than a "throw". I love the sasae in no gi.
