People need to start realizing this is how success works. “It was kind of like being struck by lightning, BUT I had spent 10 years of my life building a lightning rod.”

someone tell me why I was so nervous FOR Sasha watching this video, but she answered the questions like the pro she is! this was incredibly professional and impressive, i aspire to be this confident and educated one day!

...because she's talking so fast. You can hear the nerves in her voice. (Corporate interviewer here). What helps her tremendously is that she is very well prepared for her questions and she knows the content she wants to bring across at the interview table. It's her vocal tone - go back and listen to it again. (Most interview coaches will also tell you not to use your hands as much as she does here too...). She absolutely NAILED that ending though!! I love that she recognized the time crunch and went immediately into the last words she wanted to make sure she left them with.

As someone getting ready to compete at a MAO local in a week seeing something like this is so helpful and helps ease a lot of anxieties that I have for competing. Thank you so much!

I compete in MAO aswell (the teen division) what state do you compete for? If you don't want to answer or want to keep that private I completely understand but I have State coming up in two weeks and it is my first time!

Same here - it's so hard to find a video online that shows exactly what happens so that we can know what to expect. I LOVE that she uploaded this so we can feel a little better prepared mentally.

Sasha - this was unbelievably helpful to see!! Thank you for posting this - it's so helpful in allowing us to see and hear what it's like so we know what we're walking into and we know what to expect. That in itself takes the edge off and helps to lessen alot of nerves. You did a great job here. This is a tough interview that's super hard to be ready and prepared for... you truly never know what kind of questions are going to come out of left field, or even definitive statements meant to try throwing you off ("I appreciate the ideology...") You did an excellent job here. Thank you for posting the full video - this is extremely helpful to those of us doing this for the first time. (Is it just me or does this very much feel like a Disney interview? LOL! I worked in entertainment too and I swear to you... some days I was pretty sure their mission was to see how fast they could stress you out in those interviews and make you lose your footing vs actually interviewing you to see if you would be a right fit for the job. Oh the stories I have...).

Pretty sure I worked with Sasha as a photo pass photographer... I remember the name, I remember a Sasha working as Pluto, and I remember the autistic kiddo about making Mom faint when her child said words she'd never heard him say before. I feel like I remember working with her as Cinderella too. Didn't realize you had gone on to Miss American as a state titleholder Sasha! Congrats!

I compete in MAO also but I do teen and I have State in less than a month and I would love to know your interview tips! If you could make a video on how to real in interview and not rehearsed because my feedback in all my mocks are that my answers sound rehearsed! You did amazing ❤

Good interview but that politics topic is tough for sure. The guy on the left in particular was looking for less optimism and more realism. Men think in results vs women think of the experience, so it was hard for him to connect with her. I think men shouldn’t be judging women pageants anyway.

She did a great job! She is beautiful, articulate and very well informed. However, could the judges be any ruder? Every time the camera was on them all but one was simply looking at paperwork or daydreaming. How rough would it be to speak to a group of judges like that?

They most likely want to see how would the contestant respond to an uncomfortable situation

You were Pluto, but you were trying to get a child to come out of his shell. How do you attempt to do that if you're a mute character? 🤔 Not only that, but a mute character without any facial expressions.
