I have lived in Saskatoon since 1961. Pop was 72,000. What a difference 2022. Now I am moving to Ontario to a cottage on a River. A little piece of paradise. Saskatoon is just getting too busy for us. It is a beautiful city this type of year can’t beat the climate. Going to miss Saskatoon but I am looking forward to our new home in Ontario. Thanks for making the video. Great job.

One of only two landlocked provinces in Canada, Saskatchewan is widely known for its flat prairie landscapes, but it's also home to chiselled badlands, thick boreal forest, sand dunes, and tens of thousands of lakes. It's very much an “outdoor” province as it doesn't have any major metropolitan centres.

Northern Boreal Saskatchewan is a nicely kept secret even though it covers half the province. It has only 2 gravel roads that go up there. North of lake athabasca looks almost like BC!

Saskatoon is in the middle of the prairies, in the moist mixed grasslands, though it is a river city built upon the banks of the South Saskatchewan River, and has two amazing afforestation areas or man made forests on the prairies. Northern Saskatchewan features the boreal forest.

First, thanks for visiting Saskatoon and posting a video on it! I’m a local so don’t take me too serious! Clearly you are not Canadian, but not to be negative we had a good time with your commentary. Next time you come to Saskatoon I will be more than happy to give you the tour. As a local, your pronunciations were a bit off but you would need to be a local to get them correct. Saskatoon is and has always been the largest city (Regina suck it). Saskatoon is more of a university city than a conference city, but acknowledging that is correct. You did nail a lot of the good points on the city and facts! Go Riders!

I live here. The river does have good walking paths. Those Canada geese and goslings are best avoided. We have several events that run over summer that bring people in, too -- , the jazz festival, the fringe, the exhibition with the rides and concerts, and lots of bands roll through to play at the Delta Bessborough. They've got a nice grassy area behind the hotel for concerts.

I have only been to Saskatoon in early December when it was already pretty chilly. I would certainly like to go back in the summer months. As someone from Toronto I am a little shocked at how few people are milling around. The city looks so big and sprawling. It looks like it was dropped out of the US and placed in Canada.

yeah not 5 minutes from where he was walking is the start of Alphabet city, where a large part of the drugs, gangs and violence happens, although i lived in toronto in a bad part of town for 2 years and the rough part of town in saskatoon isnt nearly what is is in a metro city, this guy literally showed you the newest 4 blocks of the downtown area and some of the adjacent area and a very small fraction of the river bank area as well, i have lived here most of my life and i will say saskatoon is mostly a pretty clean city though in most areas of town.

Where you pointed for the University of Saskatchewan, that wasn’t correct. That was houses. The U of S is the other way, across the river. You could see it when you were at the Hotel Bess, to the left. It’s too bad you didn’t go there. It is a gorgeous campus and world renowned. Home of the Synchotron. Scientists from all over the world come to do research there. I was born here and lived here most of my life, raised my family. I wouldn’t live anywhere else.

Good vid. The hotel is pronounced 'Bezz burrow.' Which is on one of Joni Mitchell's record covers in the background, as she grew up partly in Saskatoon (bonus fact). Sunday nights are dead downtown, unless there are festivals etc, then it's packed. We do have northern lights, and it dips to -40c/f in winter. We have a large rink with pro lacross and semi pro basketball, plus hockey, concerts etc. Saskatoon is one of the sunniest cities in Canada all year. That path you were walking on (meewasin trail) goes up and down both sides of the river for 100+ kms. The pandemic remnants are also is probably the reason it's so slow on a Sunny Sunday night too. Saskatoon is well spread out though, and its easy and fast to go from one end of the city to another. Lots of shops and food places in all corners of the city. Saskatoon downtown during a festival is a fun place for sure.

First of all, you pointed out a place that is decidedly not the university. Second, have you never seen the sun before? What kind of comment is "the sun is bright"? It's clear you did absolutely no research before starting your camera and wandering aimlessly making comments that make little to no sense. For example, if you had even bothered to Google the city you would have seen that the Remai is a world class modern art gallery. Anyone can wander around reading the names of buildings, next time try research and offering some insight beyond simply (badly) reading the names of random buildings. Sweeping the camera around making us all dizzy was a nice touch. I'll be giving the rest of your videos a miss.
