Hi Scott, just tried it, it seems to over atomise a little, I've only tried it with thinners so it will probably be better with a thicker material but i still think it's over atomising the fluid, pattern is fine
@scottherr6423 жыл бұрын
Pete thanks so much-i may get a w400 body anyway as I'm looking for a proper uhs clear gun. If the pattern is good then the extra atomization might work well on the super viscous clears that are 80%+solids. Sickens, quarts LG, Chameleon etc...up till now I only use the sagola for. Even the sagola in 1.3 needs dialed back to 1.5 turns on fluid to approach properly atomizing uhs clears. I can make any gun work but the solvent pop ruins your ability to use flow to an advantage.

Hello Pete hope you are doing well, interesting comparison, whenever I’ve seen videos about the W400 everyone’s spoke highly of these guns especially the Bellaria version so I guess the results weren’t that surprising to me . Then again the Sata fans really love their Sata guns , I guess everyone has their favourites , I’m a die hard Iwata fan so that’s how it is I guess . Two nice guns there Pete, I'm not really a Sata man as I don't like the look and design of the latest ones plus IMO they are way over priced but as you say they both did a fantastic job on the clear and they both laid it down exactly the same so obviously the winner is the cheaper gun. No mention of the “RP” as consuming less air? I thought I’ve heard the benefit for DIY guys with smaller air compressors is the RP tip….especially when doing big projects like full car body resprays. Love your videos!
@peteshobbies53833 жыл бұрын
Hi Derek, yes, the RP uses less air than the HVLP but the air consumption of both of these guns is around the same, certainly not noticeable as being different, the HVLP Sata setup uses around 17cfm so huge amounts, the WBX version of the W400 also uses a lot, not quite as much as the Sata HVLP but no far off it, cheers 👍
@niamakhtar22343 жыл бұрын
Accurate comparison Pete! Got both of them and the Sata is not for a novice, slow user, for defo more chance of runs. The W400 is more user friendly, and does not consume as much air, without compromising the finish, and is capable of flat finishes. I have The 1.3, with a 1.4 for HS clears. Would be nice if you could do a review on the Liquid Quartz Glass VHS clear, German Clear, via SGD. No reviews on it. Very good quality clear coat!!!
@peteshobbies53833 жыл бұрын
Thanks Niam, I'm really growing to like the Sata's, i now have a few different tip sets both RP and HVLP in various sizes both O and I, once you get used to them they are very rewarding to use, the HVLP is on the limit of my setup, it can only just supply enough air to keep up but it does, i have 2 compressors linked so can leave them both on if needed but that's a noisy affair so best avoided. The Bellaria is a much more user friendly option and around a third of the price so ideal for the chap at home on a limited budget and as you say air consumption is lower and is just as happy in professional use. I will get round to using some different clears so keep a look out buddy 👍

Hi Mate, I have a soft spot for the F160, for the money, it's so good, the FLG5 is a reliable workhorse that I used and enjoyed for 5 years, it was only the F160 that made me realise that you can get a "better" performing gun for a little less. Pete, what's the difference in the 2 air caps c1 & c2 for the devilbiss dv1.
@peteshobbies53833 жыл бұрын
Hi Anthony, the C2 cap has a smaller pattern than the C1 but is slightly wider, its also wetter so in effect it makes the gun faster, i would probably equate it to the TE10 v TE20 on the pro lite, it's a similar feeling of the difference between the two, i know the TE10 is normally a base cap but the difference in speed is a good comparison, both give a good finish but go about it in a different way if that makes sense. I've done a video of the B HVLP cap and the C2 cap the other day and am planning on a C1 & C2 cap one soon, its good to do it back to back as it rules out any other factors, cheers 👍

@@peteshobbies5383 Entire car. Basically, what I'm saying is, on a fuel tank, It's mostly just quick squirts on the trigger/nozzle, off on, off on, etc. Not prolonged applications as in spraying and walking the side of an entire car, where you're on the trigger for a lot longer time and putting out a lot more material. As I would be when spraying a candy or colour shift paint job. If you were walking the side of a car, which gun would you choose? I'd obviously choose the Sata. I Imagine you would as well. But for a fuel tank, or any other smaller job, panels etc, I'd choose the Iwata. I luv and appreciate your video's, there was no offence Intended. I just thought 'Ol Mate had a valid point and I pretty much agree with him. It still takes skill and experience to get a nice finish on a fuel tank. No doubt about that. I'm also a bike bloke, not a car bloke, Although, I've painted both. Only entire cars though, not panels etc. For me the fun in paining is Improving and changing the entire appearance of the bike or car etc. I'd never do a repair unless I absolutely had to. Fortunately, I'm a good rider lol. Been riding for 49 yrs, as of yesterday (X-Mas day, 1975. Honda XR75), and since 4 yr's of age. Never crashed a street bike or a car. (Touch wood 😁). The curves and lines on a fuel tank obviously show how good the finish is, better than it would on a front guard etc. I get that. So, again, absolutely no offence was Intended.
