I feel like I've been in queue waiting for God to call me, but the line is much longer than I ever realized it could be. As long as He calls me! 😂 I wish we were neighbors. We could get walky-talky's and talk to each other 🙃🙂

My neighborhood borders a ghetto-like area. The Lord put on my heart that when someone walks through the neighborhood in front of my home, or is walking down the street where I’m driving, that I should smile at them, make eye contact and often, wave. You should see how many faces light up with joy just from such a small demonstration of kindness - at feeling noticed and at being made to feel like they’re not invisible in this dark world. Our society is starving for love. Paul said, “for Faith, Hope, Love, remain. But the greatest of these is Love.“

I volunteered at a day centre for homeless people not long after I left home to go to college, and met a boy who came in for help, who had lived in my neighbourhood as a child, whose mother neglected and abused him and his little brothers and sisters. My mother had always been kind to them - brought them in an fed them many times when their mother was on the booze - and he remembered my mother's love, which really impacted on me. Local charity is what truly matters.

Yes! How odd it was for me to hear what was said at 5:00. Several months ago, I spontaneously found myself doing the same thing. I would notice a random person or family and think to myself "God, I don't know that person, but bless them. I don't know what their life situation is but please bless them." Some are more obvious like a person with an obvious infirmity, and I would pray for them specifically for that reason. But so many more are just random. And for those reading this, may the Lord bless you too!

@@beltrabay9298 In (John 14:13), Christ Himself tells believers that whatever we ask in His name He will do, for He pleads directly with the Father. Only the Son and the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:26) can intercede before the Father's throne. The Bible tells us that our Only Mediator is Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5) and that He intercedes for us with the Father as an attorney (1 John 2:1) would, all the rest are just human doctrines. The rich man knew Lazarus' name, he recognised him and was begging him for water. So, the rich man's neglect of Lazarus is even worse. He knew Lazarus, he just didn't care.

Wow! You were truly Spirit-inspired with this one! Going to show this one to my 16-year-old grandson. Thank you again for being a priest and heeding your call. May God continue to bless you and your ministry. Dan from Michigan.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. Just close your eyes and say “Jesus, I don’t have faith in you, please help me believe” Jesus loves you, turn to Him before it is too late. He loves you so much that He died for you. I’m praying for you❤🙏

Father Mark, thank you! I am very happy that you have given me an understanding of what I can do for the homeless in my community. A little goes a long way for those who have nothing.

Thank you Fr. Very important topic. May God have mercy on us. If I had a small brother or sister, I would really be there for them like my big siblings do to me. May God bless them all. Amen

Father I don’t know. I hope I don’t go to hell but so many homeless. If you build it they will come and then the litter and tents and needles car break-ins and I know it’s not ALL homeless but there is a problem in our society.

Thank you for this suggestion, Fr Mark. I need to start doing this more. I'm naturally shy and find it hard to speak to others.

I recall reading about St. Faustina being in charge of the convent gate and a poor beggar came looking for something to eat. She handed him a bowl of soup and later learned she fed Jesus.
