It was the fact that he didn’t want the hoopla and she said she didn’t either, then of course one small thing became many. And let’s give Carrie a damn break. She was finally marrying the man of her dreams, so it’s not unheard of to get lost in it all. Everyone calling her a narcissist by default. He’s been married twice before and really wants it to be something intimate between only them. The whole thing goes off the rails because each is focused on their individual driving factor. And in the end, she realizes her contribution to it all, and they find their way through it.

Carrie's reaction was psychotic & immature. To beat her beloved fiancé like that was abusive and exaggeration. Had that been a man beating his fianceé over the head with a heavy bridal bouquet, it would not have been acceptable by society standards. The talk they have at the end, in the closet, THAT'S the talk they needed to have had in that moment (or whenever she calmed TF down). To blame him for being humiliated yet she's the one standing in the middle of the street making a scene is ridiculous. I love SATC but have never been able to agree with Carrie's double-standards throughout all her relationships.

I always get chills at Charlotte’s/ Kristin Davis’ “NOOOOOO!!!” I also tear up as well because I’ve always been that friend myself - fiercely protective even more than I would be of myself if that makes sense. Friends and family will always protect their loved ones from someone they know will hurt them regardless of the circumstances they are experiencing which is a sign of how strong the bond is. I wish they’d never bothered with the sequel because it was as though they went against everything they’d built the characters up to represent - Charlotte getting worried about her husband cheating on her, Carrie being so spiteful especially to Charlotte
