Great clean up job BT! “Satin Doll” sounds like a brand new recording, hot off of the presses. ❤

@DebbieScott Thank you kindly. These Sheffield Lab recordings have amazing clarity to begin with so not much to clean up, except for a few clicks and clacks here and there. ❤

So here a master tape was used. So we don´t hear the real direct-to-disc sound!

@jourwalis-8875 Right, but just as good in my opinion. Plus it was a lot easier to do the transfers on these rather than de-click about 30 vinyl tunes, subject to the limitations of my vinyl playback setup. And if it's on KZbin, the audio has been digitized and processed, so you'll never be able to hear online exactly how it sounds listening live to the raw, analog playback on vinyl. Thanks for the comment.

Why recorded in a church?

@jourwalis-8875 For whatever reason, I don't believe Sheffield Lab had a studio, or at least they recorded all of Harry James' direct-to-disc tunes at Wylie Chapel. Wylie Chapel was apparently very accommodating with leasing their facility for weddings, public events, movie shots, and even recording sessions. Sheffield Lab apparently thought it had very appealing acoustics, and the price may have been more competitive than a formal studio. Sheffield spent quite a bit of time just setting up the equipment in preparation for the recording sessions. Thanks for the comment!
