as a one piece player the satin tower is perfect cause you can have your dice tray and you can hold enough for black decks and you can have triple sleeved decks but for me i double sleeve my exclusive and custom dragon shield sleeves in dragon shield over sleeves and it can also hold a snap case along with my don deck thats triple sleeved with tons more room for extra cards to change out depending on what match ups you think youll be against so its the absolute perfect deck box for my most expensive tourny deck

I was comparing my old Ultimate Guard Monoliths to my Satin Towers. They are the same size, card capacity wide, but the Monolith has the deeper dice/token tray like the Boulder and Tray. I don't know why they sized it down.

I was a bit surprised it was so shallow. Would be nice if they adjusted it in future iterations.

I owned both matted and slick plastic satin towers. I can honestly say that the matted satin tower holds tighter than slick plastic one due to the matted texture but you will see finger prints on the matted one. Personally I sold all of my satin towers due to it being kinda awkward when your carrying multiple in a backpack or duffel bag but kinda regretting now due to be not having a strong draft deck box that i want to carry on the go.

What do you mean by "draft deck box"? You bring it to the draft? How many cards do you leave with? Thanks

Mini draft box(50 sleeves + 15 basic in each color + some dice) or (50 sleeves + some dice)

That's really good to know! I'm planning on picking up a matte one too so I can see the differences there as well. I know the original Twin Flip 'n' Tray is bigger but I'm probably going to pick one up for my draft kit. I'm using the Twin Flip 'n' Tray 266+ now but I'd rather use that for a couple of commander decks.

I have both. Ultimate Guard is cheaper than the Ultra Pro. In my LGS, most of the MTG players uses a toolbox for their towers and boulders. It is necessary be able to put more than lest, so it has to fit right. If one is using a duffel bag or a backpack, then that should not be an issue.

Yeah, the Boulder n Tray just hit my LGS this week and they are seriously cheaper than the Satin Towers. I probably will be picking up a few more BnT's in the next few weeks because of that. (They are even cheaper than the Satin Cubes!)

I live in a very humid area. The matte coating on my boulders seem to have melted/rubbed off. I am now left with sticky and patchy matte boulders. Very disappointing.

Tropical country here and this happened big time with the rubber coating on my satin towers but not with any of my boulders for some reason. Anyway, the satin towers got so bad that I had to boil off the residue and repaint them.

@@LeonValenti never thought about boiling it off. Gonna try that. Interestingly enough all of my satin towers are fine. Only happened to my boulders.

2 of my boulders got sticky. Another 2 did not but got flaky. They probably used a different coating a few waves later. You can take away the stickiness by wiping it off with alcohol (maybe there's another solvent that could be better). It's a lot of work though. I'm still hoping that there are local sellers who will be restocking the clear boulders. I want those for my commander decks.
