Asphalt does Z-fight, it's just harder to see. paint a crosswalk on clipped asphalt foundations and watch the entire illusion fall apart
@Dadaya20003 ай бұрын
You can sometimes use a pillar on top of z-fighting structures to replace one of the fighting parts. Replace it by attaching it to the bottom of the pillar, instead of to the other fighting parts, and then nudge it into place. This can stop the z-fighting.

Great look. I am still on an organically super-pragmatic build (in another word: ugly), but why do you build Ficsit foundations and then change them to concrete when you can build concrete directly? Or was that not an option yet one year ago when this video was posted? I only just started playing after the 1.0 release, and _now_ you can certainly select which material your build menu defaults to, and of course choose any material for your quickbar.
@FluxoBuilds2 ай бұрын
@@hakonsoreide the ficsit foundation is the best foundation to use to tell you what way the foundation is facing. I use it first for that reason, it helps massively when placing asphalt the most as the centre line on the asphalt is hard to make out when placing them. I don't use a build hotbar as it restricts my thinking as I am creating builds. I much prefer to go into the build menu and scroll through multiple options when building. I have 8,000 hours in this game and now do it as a living so most things I do when building for are for specific reasons.

Every time I see how more experienced Satisfactory players play this game and go about building, my number one takeaway is that I care way too much about space. I have an ingrained desire to make things as compact and space-efficient as possible, and I just can't bring myself to allocate so much extra space for aesthetics. It feels wasted, no matter how much I tell myself that the map is too big for that to ever matter.
