With the bigger blueprint designer you could revisit this video. I don't know what fits better. A video per style with splits, intersection, bridges etc. as a blueprint catalog. Or again a video with different designs.

Are you kidding me? Yesterday I was sad that you didn't have a video about rail line designs. And I do mean that unironically. And yes, even to think about that I searched SPECIFICALLY after this and that I am THIS happy to get this notification makes me realize that I may have a Satisfactory related problem. But I don't care. You rock. Cheers.

One of my problems with satisfactory is I keep trying to build things too close to the ground. The problem with that is the terrain is not transformable, and there's actually very little flat space. Next time I play it I need to do what everyone else does and just build elevated roads/rails/factories and stop trying to fit buildings in the tiny amount of flat terrain I can find. I'll give it another shot when 1.0 comes out.
@thetoyodacar2264Ай бұрын
yup. I also wanted to follow the ground, but no. Elevated is superior. Just need to add believable supports and it's all good.
@charliebrenton44218 сағат бұрын
I like to build a platform at the high point. Then I will drop down into the hollows of the terrain for logistics, smelters, storage, etc! The terrain is a feature not a bug!

Oh, I really like the lights "tucked in" to the large pillar supports. I didn't know you could even do that. My current railway blueprints are dual-carriageway supports in "flat", "slight angle" and "steep angle" variants and I just plunk them along the terrain (elevated by foundations a bit to make sure there's vehicle clearance as needed, then I delete the foundations and run steel pillars down to the ground) allowing for trains snaking through the landscape in a (mostly) fluid fashion. I just string rail between them once they're placed, and the max rail length means I end up with a nice tidy line/array of supports marching across the map.

I’ve always been a fan of skyrail support pillar designs. Sifting through the blueprints listed on Satisfactory calculator, I always appreciate designers going for simple designs taking consideration of the fact you’re going to be placing a lot of these down. These are some good-looking designs you have so far. 👍

This is brilliant. I’m new to trying to make designs of buildings etc and this is so helpful. What I really need is a reaaaalllly basic vid of the how ‘nudge’ etc. I’ve watched your tips etc but you whizz through so fast lol Really appreciate all these help vids though, so so good.
@TotalXclipse5 ай бұрын
Nudging is super simple, press G (I think) to lock the buildable in place then use arrow keys to nudge the item forwards / backwards left or right (it doesn't work with all build pieces) you can also hold CTRL whilst pressing the arrow keys to make half sized nudges ☺️

It very nice design for line settings. It would be great if you could show how these design solutions will look at connection points under different angles, not just 90 degrees but also 30/60 or 45. Usually, it’s a significant challenge to create something elegant when dealing with turns that aren’t at 90-degree angles. Thank you for nice videos and streams.

I just made a blueprint where I had the base be a Power Tower Platform. It follows similarly to Design 8 surprisingly with some minor differences. On the top are Street Lights. I do this because Ziplining is my preferred form of transportation so underneath I can zipline while up above are the train tracks. Really excited to making it work. Need to make one that works well for 90 degree turns as 45 degrees tends to get me off the standard grid which upsets me.

when starting a new factory in the world, in general i would recommend to first plan (and build or outline) the infrastructure before starting on the actal factory. This way you can be sure, that everything fits as wanted and you dont end up refactoring your entire factory the moment you realize that your infrastructure needs more space than anticipated

In the general topic, the thing I've been struggling with is actually the stations. I'm stumped at basic station design. What gets me is the sheer size of these things. My last attempt stranded at wanting to make a rail network of dedicated small factories, e.g. one (or one per region) pumping out computers, one for rotors, etc - every component that's used in large volume by multiple other factories. The first one was a combined iron, copper and steel station just for pickup. The thing was so large that all processing machines together filled but a corner of the space under the platforms. It had to be raised very high just to fit all of it in the landscape. Or over, more like. And then there's the choice to raise the stations or have them at the bottom, and a bunch more bricks in a giant wall that just flattened my morale.

Any tips for getting the frame inside the foundation (@ 7:33 ). Or has that maybe been patched out? I can't for the life of me get it to line up right. I can get it lower but not right and I can't figure out how to "nudge" things vertically.

These are really nice detailed designs that can be simply copied into the game via blueprints. But a problem is that you didnt really have an explanation on how to handle these designs in a turn. Sure going straight is going to be super pretty, but once a turn come the players wont know how to make that look good

Me the ultra practical person. Why are you adding so much detailing that do not enhance the structual integrity (or the preceived such)?? Surprisingly triggering considering it's so small details that you add that are affected by only serving imo cosmetic effect (yes technically almost everything is cosmetic but i mean the parts that even IF the game had support physics would be cosmetic)
