@@marmyeater Actually, for steel to melt instantly like it does in the game, nothing man made can replicate that. Arc torches can cut steel, but only at point blank. Fatalis' 'flame' burns so insanely hot it's rated to be in the high Kelvins.

Both Rey Dau and Lala Barina have peak designs. Every dang design we have seen so far has been great, there is not one miss for me. The Scarlet Forest is also very interesting and i hope we get to see the biomes of the area soon. Since Windward Plains have 3 Sub Biomes within it, i would think the Scarlet Forest would have just as many.

The inspiration of Lala Barina being both a tarantula and a ballet dancer is the most imaginative thing ever. I am always so mystified with the developers and their ability to hone the inspirations for their monsters and make them memorable. I can’t wait to make her armor set.

Looks similar to the crystals & blue/ purple stones the villagers are using for decoration- the hanging strings of crystals overhead, the spiraling insets on the walls, doors, etc. Perhaps, they collect & adorn their places with Rey Dau's fulgurites for protective purposes? As in maybe their local culture believe this offers safety from other monsters who fear the wyvern's presence, or perhaps wards off the worst effects of sand/ lightning storms.

Tbf Rajang is a deviation, not the norm..generally as monsters grt objectively stronger, they get quite a bit larger Deviljho, Akan & Ukan, the Raths, Diablos, Rey Dau, Gammoth, Tigrex etc. All huge monsters, and all at LEAST apex tier (jho, Akan & Ukan are all elder tier, Akan & Ukan probably stronger than Teostra and Kushala)

As a native spanish speaker Lala Barina's name makes me chuckle everytime, it sounds like if a toddler that barely learned how to speak wants to say "La Bailarina" meaining "The Ballerina". Fitting name, since it seems that the spider has some moves. Also them calling Hawk Tua (Rey Dau) "the apex of this region" could mean that each region has a specific monster that dominates that area. Scarlet Forrest could very much be Lala Barina. Perhaps the flagship is an invader type that isnconsider the apex of all the maps

I don't think Lala Barina is the Apex of the Scarlet Forest, especially since we haven't really seen what the other states of the forest could be. Lala Barina seems to be the introductory monster to this region.

The japanese name is Labala Barina, "Bala" being "Rose" in Japanese, and "Barina" is from the Italian word "Ballerina", so basically "the rose ballerina".

Ooh, I love the idea of a 'Red Tide' (or something to that effect) being this biome's inclement state. It appears to be a quite humid riparian environment, perhaps in a lowland basin, which may experience seasonal flooding from the grasslands further upstream. Maybe the excess precipitation of Windward Plain's 'wet season'/ plenty state eventually makes its way to this wetland downstream; think along the lines of the Okavango Delta in Botswana. In the 'flooded' state, perhaps hunters could encounter more mobile aquatic animals usually confined to deeper river channels, like say... lagiacrus swimming through the submerged understory, snapping at now-reachable prey from the treetop canopy, etc. I'm also curious what causes the 'Scarlet' tinge to the water... excess mineral concentrations due to the area's geology? Endemic bacterial or algal blooms? Some kind of tannin staining thanks to the local flora? The trees do have red 'veins' running up their trunks, so there is some kind of interaction there at least. (Well, that... or Datatsushi is getting a MH cameo. A Forbidden Siren crossover event, lol.....)

Me and my friend spent at least an hour, hour and a half going through the trailer and website in agonizing detail. A few of my favourites that isn't the monsters (this is before I've watched the video), is seeing NPCs out in the locale doing things. As well as the section where we see the houses with the blue crystals. namely, I love that sections because of the disks with the circular assortment of crystals on them that you see on the houses as well as stacked up on the right. They seem insignificant until you realize that the ones on the houses are windows with the disks being the seals they likely use to block out the Sandtide. It's such a small but brilliant way to convey that villages culture and how they have adapted to their ecology.

I think that's obvious for romantic language speakers, but Lala Barina is a play of words with "La Balerina", the dancer. And she moves like a dancer, that is such a clever way of naming the monster after what it does, but still keeping it on brand with all other monster names on the game. I love monster hunter.

So I’m gonna repost a comment I left on another KZbinr’s reaction to this trailer: “So I'm on major copium right now, but timeline wise: Monster Hunter World let press play the game for 25 minutes (which was an Ancient Forest demo with Great Jagras and Anjanath) in September of 2017. Then three months later came the PS Plus demo with all 14 weapons and three hunting quests (December 9th-12) and then the game came out January 2018. So since they're letting press and the public play the game right now as of August, I honestly wonder if we're set for a similiar timeline. I do think the release date will be revealed at Tokyo Game Show, because if it isn't and becomes another TGA reveal than it will end up being Q2-Q3. OTHERWISE, I'm all in on snorting late January-early march release window copium.” Also Rey Dau is just 10/10.

That would be a very cool & cohesive way to tie together disparate 'biome areas' into a complete map! The Scarlet Forest being a lowland basin/ estuarine mangrove delta with red tides, the Windward Plains being a continental grassland with seasonal storms, the [ICE BIOME HERE] being a cloud-break that distributes precipitation downstream through massive glaciers & snowmelts... this 'route' would make sense from both a game-progression & ecologic standpoint, I think! ^^ I do hope if we get another 'ice area' they put a new spin on it, to really differentiate it from past gens. Maybe an alpine ecosystem with unique geology & rock formations- or strong sub-glacial volcanism/ tectonic activity? Glacial lakes, fjords, & Jökulhlaups are all interesting features they could incorporate into a game focusing on weather events/ changes. I still long to see a combined ice/ volcano map in MH, along the lines of Iceland or something... could be very dynamic & distinct.

Thing is their might me a second insectoid monster. The switch axe weapon trailer shows a chitinous switch axe with white and lavender skin draped over it. The user has a chinese style armor also made of the same white and lavender hide thats draped over the insectoid weapon, and said weapon is ice element.

Hmm, there does seem to be less obvious customization being highlighted... perhaps it's simply for visual cohesion between trailers? ^^ Possibly just to make clear what a 'seikret' is to a wider audience across all these videos. Frankly, it would be a major step backwards for them to remove such personalized details/ elements from the game..... given the popularity of the palico/ palamute customization, I can only assume they'll be pragmatic and continue the trend in Wilds. But! There has been some minor variation seen between the mounts shown off... - In the 1st trailer with Alma & the PC, their seikrets side-by-side have slightly different body sizes, crest length, plumage saturation (this almost looks like mild sexual dimorphism to me, maybe?), & riding tack. - In the 2nd trailer, the cloaked guy's seikret has distinct black stripes all across it's body, more color saturation & contrast between the purple/ teal plumage, & another style of decorative tack. - Now in this 3rd trailer (~0:40 sec.), we also see that Olivia's seikret is again unique, with dark patterning like the cloaked guy's but in a faded green, a shorter feather crest, plumage colored far more blue/ teal with little purple, & a set of armored tack. In the village segment (~1:13 sec.), the seikrets in the 'stables' do only look subtly different, but hey, it's something...? But OMG- anybody else just notice the itty-bitty seikret chick in the bottom left of that scene? Q_Q It's soooo cute!!! Looks like a baby albatross or cygnet, with all the white down and stumpy lil' legs... I'd love if the PC could hatch/ raise some seikrets or something. C'mon, gimme a seikret farming/ racing minigame, Capcom...!

As a community can we agree that Teya nickname is now Unicron, because whoever came up with the idea of a dragon with a railgun the looks of Unicron should get a raise. I love that Austin pointed out the cats reaction I missed that until he mentioned and I nearly died laughing. And WE STILL DON'T KNOW WHO IS THE FLAGSHIP! Like dude you got big shoes to fill and you got to top Rey. Plus seeing Unicron shape the environment has me excited because that could be dynamic environments where the fight shapes the area mid fight is so tough. I'M SATISFIED BUT MORE THAN HUNGRY FOR MORE. I agree with Austin it has to be the first 3 months of next year because that makes the most sense and if their try to mirror world they could drop it in January. I am excited to hear about the demos and when a public demo becomes available.

CONFIRMED addition that I LOVE is you can now mix/match the male/female armor pieces as you like! You can play a female character and wear the male character armor and vice versa! Not only is that amazing for choosing the cooler looking piece, it also gives more options for mixed set fashion hunting, as well as giving us the ability to put our macho man characters in a bikini 😂

I theorized this on another video, but I'm hedging on a January release like MH World. My entire bases for that is that World was announced June 13 2017 and released January 26 2018. Wilds was announced May 31, 13 days earlier than World. So, if they do follow a similar turnaround then January to early 2025.

The blast is pretty clearly generated by lightning striking Rey, then Rey using his horns to generate his blast after he's been charged It's not a railgun-railgun, but it's clearly inspired off one

Also.I hope they dont make the flagship monster included in the demo. Take the lesson to what happened to magnamalo in rise. Fricking speed run on demo hunt lol.
