The manufacturing company I used to work for had this kinda stuff down to the T. They made their own stuff & needed not just in bulk but limited runs. Everything from the formulation of the flux to the right led substrate and their extruding machines & sciences were all meticulously scrutinised and perfected even to this very day afaik.

From the back side! Nice technique! I was wondering if you'd single pin solder because the plastic gets melty.

you can do it from top if you're quick and aim at an angle (heat applied 45 degree angle to the board instead of 90 degrees directly on top onto the connector)

Are they through-hole, or did you apply heat to the back so as not to melt the plastic on the connector?

So you tinned the pads on the board, applied more flux, and then reflowed the connector? What about solder paste?
@Ty-sm9cv Жыл бұрын
Solder paste is best used with a stencil, doing this gives you the exact amount of solder you need on the pad, and it acconplishes the same result. Paste is really best used with a pick and place, or manual placement with reflow.
