@FireGodSpeed
@FireGodSpeed 9 сағат бұрын
@@owievisie you could automate the chamfer on that puck with a robot arm. You could make those handles on a CNC lathe with a bar feeder. You could automate the friction welding with a robot arm.. And the worst part of this video, the mould they use.. my god a injection mold with 0 injectors and worn too? i mean bruh.. (its worn given the flashing aka the excess material on the side of the weights). A vertical injection mold machine with injectors and a robot arm could automate this and if the mould is done right it should also have basically no flashing so you don't have to clean them after. So the only real thing that still has to be done manually is material stocking. So technically speaking almost everything could be automated but given the fact that they are probably cheaper than any robot would cost.. it is what it is.

Yeah, and it makes so much more sense when you think about it. From a manufacturer's standpoint, it's both cheaper and easier to have circular billets for each end of the dumbbell then cast a hexagonal rubber coating on top of it.

When you weld with any other method you would be welding the points you can touch, which is basically perimeter of handle. With friction welding you are getting all the surface of the handle to weld to the weight. This way it is stronger than other methods. Geometry is the limiting factor here

@I_Capone
@I_Capone 6 күн бұрын
