I’ve never heard of this before. I have a Zoleo but would have considered this device had I known about it. Hmm

O.K. Just watched your review of SatPaq Satellite Messenger 6/2024. Question are you still as happy with it now? I am looking for something like this and SatPaq seems to be just what the doctor ordered. Thanks. Like and enjoy your videos. very informative.

I like our SatPaq, as far as worrying about the phone breaking or being lost I have the app setup on my wife's phone also as a backup. The one and only thing that I don't like about SatPaq is that I cannot text a email address like I can with my cellphone. I haven't had any problem with connecting with the satellite including when we were 200 miles north of the Canadian boarder. If they could upgrade the software to let you text to a email address it would be perfect.

Love the idea of pairing with another phone! Wish I had thought of that! Thanks for the idea!

Broken Bit - I bounced your comments off of the folks at HigherGround this is what they said "We can add emails. The challenge is that there are so many email servers (gmail, hotmail, AOL...) that it is a nightmare to provide guidance on how to connect. What we could do today is to provide each user their own (e.g.) TrailMeister@satpaq.earth account. This is well defined and easy to do. But, then you have to look at this account and/or forward to your own email accounts."

Can you use it offshore

Good question! I'll have to check and let you know.

I have one, but have yet to use it. My only complaint is having unused message expire, unless you pay for more messages.
@HorseandMuleAdventureswithTrai3 жыл бұрын
Patti, I think you may have a different type of SMS. Messages don't expire on the SatPaq. That's one of the big reasons that I like it.

@@HorseandMuleAdventureswithTrai no I have the Satpaq. I got a email from then saying if I didn't buy another basic number of messages, then all the credits would vanish . But now I see I have credits. I bet my credit card was automatically charged. Will have to check into it.

@@HorseandMuleAdventureswithTrai Nope just checked my account on the website, no messages left. So I was correct , if you don't continue buying messages , they all disappear.

@@pachilly I bounced your comments back to the folks at HigherGround and this is what they said. "Our minimum fee is $55 per year for 150 messages. If a user signs up again at the end of the year, then all of the messages left in their account add to the new 150 messages that they just purchased (and thus don't expire). If they don't sign up for another year (with some grace period), then the service goes away."

@@HorseandMuleAdventureswithTrai Yes I feel that is very unfair. It makes you pay 55.00 per year. Plus it takes away the messages you already paid for...... a big negative
