Cool seeing Haggar from Final Fight on a Sega game. Pretty cool game, never heard of it until now oddly.

Final Fight also got released on the Sega CD. Worth a look of you've never seen it before :)

Its graphics took a walloping with the ugly stick in the transition to the Genesis, and its sound could well give you cauliflower ear, but thankfully this port of Slam Masters still plays like the Capcom arcade classic. The SNES version can be found in my SNES playlist if you're looking for that instead.

+NintendoComplete Not like the Genesis was great at graphics.
@NintendoComplete8 жыл бұрын
+Spike Riley It could hold its own on a lot of things, though. The stuff that played to the system's strengths looked great, don't you think?

Sebastian N. For him to do that, he wuld need another person with the same emulator and ROM and the emulator would need an internet connection.
@NintendoComplete8 жыл бұрын
+Sebastian N. That'd work if I had a way of recording directly from a GBA, but I don't. And I do have almost all of the games I post, but for the most part I use whatever the most accurate emulator available is. It gives a better picture in most cases and I don't have to screw with video capture hardware. On Contra 3, I'm gonna say probably not. I don't know who I'd play it with, and I'm really not a big fan of that version. Thanks for the kind words though :)

No way, I have both versions and the graphics are pretty much identical except for some color loss on Genesis. Even that isn't that drastic. The music on Genesis sounds great, but Capcom had no clue how to do voices on the system.

I just completed this on the Snes, Hardest diff, with haggar, no loss, haha. ;) Good show. I think my time was 24 minutes ;)

The Genesis port has the voices from the arcade, and the SNES lacks that so Genesis wins that round!

Love how the Sega version had the characters SNES didn't like Jumbo and Scorpion
@Bloodreign1 Жыл бұрын
Far as I'm aware, the SNES had all the characters from the arcade version. The SNES and arcade had 8 characters (which means the SNES version was pretty much directly based on the arcade version), 2 were probably hidden characters that were just unlocked in the Genesis version by default. The character portraits on the select screen are also different from the arcade game for both 16 bit ports. Same thing occurred with one of the PS1 KoF games, with some characters having different portraits next to their lifebar in game from the arcade version.

I don’t like how CapCom always put more effort into the SNES port of this game and always screw the Sega MD/GEN port and it’s like that with the other games like Street Fighter 2
@Bloodreign1 Жыл бұрын
Japanese developers favored the SNES, Western developers favored the Genesis. Probably because those companies were paid a little more in their pockets to gimp over version of a game over another, would not surprise me one bit. Then again Japanese devs didn't tend to make too many identical multiplatform games, Konami sure as hell tended to not make the same game between systems, outside of Lethal Enforcers.
