I always say social media has both the power to create stars and also ruin them. I think a couple years ago those jokes might have been funny but with the way racial tensions are set up in America right now, it's pretty offensive. Especially that comment about being scared to date black guys seeing that stereotypes like those("big scary black guy") are getting them killed. But I agree with Loni, we need to hear from her. And I also won't have any sympathy for her if she loses her spot because according to Jeannie, the fact that she deleted the tweets means she knew they were wrong.

I've been paying a lot of attention to Melissa Villasenor for so long on KZbin. She makes jokes about other races in a lighthearted manner. I don't think she is a racist at all. Her tweets, though, came off really wrong and I'm sure she hugely regrets making those tweets. There are no punchlines to it! I just hope for her the best. She's super talented and I hope this scandal will never get rid off her chance to shine in the public eye for so long cuz she deserves it. She's really funny.

Tweets don't provide much context. I mean, we would all probably feel "The world doesn't need them" if "them" means people who throw things at our cars. Mentioning Mexicans makes some uncomfortable for the obvious reason that "them" could be Mexicans (although she is herself Mexican). The black comment could mean that she's scared because he's black OR it could mean she's scared because she doesn't know what "type" the coworker feels she would like and set her up with. That is always something to be scared about. But we don't know. The dog one... Pics or you're lying! lol That's what my Japanese friends said.

Also I'm giving SNL the side eye for casting a white latina. They aren't trying to diversify at all.
